Thinking about getting the Icon lift kit and installing myself. Looks like I can get it for about 3200 vs paying 4WP 5k to do it. I’ve got a neighbor that can help and compress the shocks, anything else that I should be aware of for doing a suspension install or should I just save myself the grief and take it to 4WP. Or any other recommendations in the Charleston area?

You could always host a mod day. Pizzas and beverages, meet people, and install some stuff. If you go with the icon coilovers, no spring compressor needed. Take out old coilover, insert new. Plus your vehicle is new enough, and warmer weather state. So you shouldnt have too much corrosion underneath to have anything seized.

I took truck to Joe's truck in summerville for the lift install. Had the truck back with the alignment done same day and wasn't anywhere near 4wp with their ridiculous prices

Yea back in the day I got my whole lift thrown on and aligned for $600 and done in one day. That was a couple years ago a okay deal would be $800-1000. Might be worth it if your asking the question.

I can do CMC with a hards up notice and weld in the new plates if you have them . I know a lot of guys that just keep them open instead of playing them

Totally forgot about this thread :notsure: . I ended up doing the lift myself and am very happy I did. With a friends help it was fairly straightforward. Started Friday after work and had her finished up by lunch on Sat. Did end up taking it to 4wp for an alignment but the install was surprisingly easy. Ended up going with the OME HD lift w/ UCAs and already having done a couple trips with it and putting about 10k miles on the truck I am very happy with the purchase!

I think I'm going to close them up for piece of mind. Either that or I'm also considering getting the drt cab mount relocation.

For future reference, I have a two post and four post lift in my garage.
If anyone is in the Charlotte area (Lake Wylie, to be precise), I'm more than happy to donate garage time and wrenching help
