Old-Man Jeebis here, hopefully all is well in the Taco-World. Glad to be part of it, ok lets get to it.

I Put in an order for a 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4, I'm looking to do mostly fire roads and light to moderate trails, I wont be doing any rock crawling but I'd like to go on some crazy adventures for sure!! Go get stuck somewhere!! I've never had a 4x4 in the past so this is going to be a learning experience for me. I was thinking of doing a lift kit nothing crazy , maybe 2.5-3 inches in the front and 1.5 in the rear , just big enough to put 33 inch tires on the taco.( I have watched a lot of video's haha) A good off roading truck, what do yall think? what parts to get?!?!? that's another story haha . Ill put up pictures as soon as i get it for Sure!!

    Okay Jeebis, welcome to TW.

    So, a couple of things
Lifting doesn’t help with tire fitment
Alignment, wheel specs, and wheel well modifications do
If you plan on wheeling a 285 then you’ll likely need a cab mount chop, (cmc)
The consensus here is 2.5 inch lift is the max your cv’s can handle before the boot fins start rubbing.

My first mod was buying full skid plates.
If i were fo do it again I’d just buy rear lift bocks and bilstein 5100’s all around and just start with a decent 2 inch front/ 1 inch rear lift out the gate so you can enjoy having a lifted truck, then a cab mount chop and 285’s.

    good luck

My recommendation: take it wheeling first, and figure out what you couldn’t do that you wanted to do. Let that guide your mods.

Keep it stock, for stock is cool.
If you really want to mod your truck, do lots of research, ask questions, don't go cheap, and do it right the first time.
    Welcome to TW.

    You are welcome!
It is for us 3rd Gens! I am not sure about 2nd Gens.
Super easy fix, I routed my hose to come out the bottom of the crossmember.

    No problem.
    Glad to be of assistance.
Have no clue why Toyota didn't put a longer hose there and route it for rust-safe drainage.
