Rearview Mirror Rattle (Sub Install)

Since I've installed my sub behind my rear seat, I've gotten this awful rattle from my rearview mirror. It only happens when the mirror is where it needs to be set for me to drive. If I angle it down or up, the rattle stops.

Anyone else experience this? What was your resolution?

It's about to drive me up a wall.

 

In the past, I've just replaced the mirror when it started to rattle like that. 4 years is pretty good life out of one IMO if you have a booming stereo or offroad a lot. It's a good excuse to get the fancy homelink one anyway.

I'm not sure if the 18's had it, but what rattles on my 21 is the big plastic piece of crap behind the mirror for the bsm (or crash detection or something). Need to pull that apart and see why it's angry when I have more than 15 minutes to spend on the truck.

 

I figured that part would rattle, but its the actual mirror. It's super annoying. Guess I'll look into those homelink mirrors.

Brian, how much was the homelink one? I've seen multiple ones, but can't decide.

You can get them from bobs mirrors for cheaper but I wanted new and gen5 since my truck had like 100 miles on it when I added it. Was pnp in my 21, I don't imagine it would be different in yours. The matching blue lights are so trick.

 

I couldn’t even remember. I bought it back in 2016 when I got the truck. Got it from bobs. If you search bobs and mirror on the forum you should be able to get it from the same place.
