If you want to add a waterproof relay/fuse block (sold separately) to your 2016-2022 Toyota Tacoma, you can achieve a factory (OEM) look with these custom 3D printed mounting brackets.
    upload_2022-10-24_20-6-50.jpg

I designed these mounting brackets for an auxiliary relay/fuse block on my 2022 Tacoma because I wanted a solution that was waterproof, safer, and more reliable than the most popular alternative available. I also wanted my relay/fuse block to look like it was installed by Toyota.
The most popular alternative is a Blue Sea fuse block mounted on a metal bracket.

My design is waterproof and does not obstruct access to the Toyota Relay Block #2. It provides for a low voltage shut-off and does not waste space with mounts for grounding wires because:
1: there are plenty of factory grounding points located throughout your truck.
2: there is a ground point right next to the battery about 1 foot from the location of the fuse block.

This mounting bracket set has four pieces:

1: Factory Relay Block #2 relocation mount. This bracket repositions the existing relay block between the power steering assembly and body, to make room for the new relay/fuse block that goes next to the factory main relay/fuse box. This location ensures accessibility of the factory relay block #2 and does not excessively bend or stretch the cables to the relay block.

This mount relocates the factory Relay Block #2 to this location
    upload_2022-10-24_20-47-35.jpg

2: Mounting bracket for a 100A breaker (to be wired between the battery and the auxiliary relay/fuse block). This bracket clips into the existing factory main relay/fuse box.

This breaker mount fits directly onto the factory primary fuse block

    After

3: A two part mount for the relay/fuse block
This mount fits this relay/fuse block directly:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MR64XK1?ie=UTF8&th=1 (~$22 sold separately)
and the Auxbeam 8 Gang Switch Panel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KZLB74K?ie=UTF8
It can easily be adapted to support any relay/fuse block of similar dimensions (7"x4"x3"); including the popular
Blue Sea Systems ST Blade ATO/ATC and Bussmann RTMR Fuse Blocks by using an optional adaptor plate.
a: The lower part fits the contours of the engine bay and requires only one hole to be drilled. The lower part mounts an optional Smart Battery Protect (low voltage cut off switch) to prevent accidentally draining your battery:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MXG5XZ4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details (!$60 sold separately)
b: The upper part adds additional space under the relay/fuse block to conceal wires that may need a little slack under the relay/fuse block.

    upload_2022-12-12_18-48-48.jpg

    Stainless steel mounting hardware included.

    Smart Battery Protect (optional):

In summary, with this option, you get a mount for a waterproof fuse/relay block, a relocation mount for the factory Relay Block #2, and a breaker mount. There are no sharp edges for potential shorts, no wasted space on a negative bus, access to the OEM Relay Block#2, and a professional looking finished installation.
This kit includes mounting brackets and hardware for the items listed above (but does not include):
    Relay/fuse block:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MR64XK1?ie=UTF8&th=1
    OR
Auxbeam 8 Gang Switch Panel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KZLB74K?ie=UTF8

All wires, ring terminals, grommets, heat shrink tubing specific to the relay/ruse box you decide to use.
You can see more photos and details here

Please note that before you order this mounting bracket kit, you should already be familiar with the tools and skills required to assemble the Fuse/Relay box. If you are not sure, order the Fuse/Relay box before you order this mounting kit.

Also compare your engine bay to this photo which shows where my fuse/relay mount kit fits

    I used this fuse/relay mount

It can power up to 6 fuse and 6 relays

I've also mounted the Auxbeam for another customer

I wish this would work with the manual transmission (or maybe it does?). I don’t think it will based on where the relay box gets relocated to (pretty sure the clutch master cylinder hard line is in the same space). Otherwise I’d love to buy.

Send me a photo of your manual transmission engine bay. This would have worked on my 2006 manual Tacoma.

Maybe it’ll work, but I doubt it.

The Off-Roads and Pros have the reservoir on the fender which puts that rubber hose running straight. Then there’s the hard line going to the trans.

The Sports have no reservoir, they pull from the brake master cylinder res. So they have a curved hose routing, and I believe the hard line is the same the way it sticks out and then curves down to go to the trans.

It seems like my reservoir and my hard line/hose will all be problems for this setup. Unless the relay box gets relocated higher than I think it does. Not sure about the reservoir still though.

Yeah, that looks like a show stopper. I had no idea Toyota did that. I have a 2022 TRD Off-road Automatic. This part of the engine bay is wide open on my 2006 manual trans Tacoma too.

Bummer for sure! Probably going to resort to a powertrays or similar. Not terrible but certainly more wire running and custom organization I’ll have to do.

    Thanks!

Just FYI: these take 15 hours to print. I'm printing these as fast as I can and will update stock on Esty when I'm done with the back log.

I looked at some old photos of my 2006 Tacoma & I'm pretty sure these mounts will work on 2nd gen Tacomas too, The only part I'm not sure about is the way my break mount clips into the factory fuse block.

I put an entire axillary battery next to the fuse block of my manual 06.
    see Taco_Dual_Battery_Figure_2a_858aaf778d9203aac5eb83f9de0ed01cbe99df28.jpg

If you have this much space on your 05, then my mounts would fit just fine. The open question is will the breaker mount work?

What does this look like on your Taco factory fuse box?

I’ll get some better photos once I have it back. It’s on a 2 week timeout at shop #2 after shop #1 trashed the collars on my brand new 2.5’s.

I have some similar blue sea circuit breakers but the kind you install with a hole saw. And some marine board with holes ready to go, as well as a compressor bracket to mount it to. I thought it’d be a tiny bit cleaner than the panel mount to have the studs physically protected. But your solution is fantastically more compact and looks nice.

My 2nd Gen is meant to be a “minimalist” build so I’m trying hard to not go too crazy, but that’s an easy battle to lose.

One other odd preference of mine, I really do like dual batteries with the aux on the passenger side to help even weight out.

Great to see that the Auxbeam8 setup worked out so sweet! When you first reached out to me about that, I wasn't sure & I'm glad I took the time to modify my design to work with the Auxbeam 8. If anyone has a different fuse block they want to use, message me & I'll see if I can make this work. I'm pretty sure it will work with Bussman fuse blocks but supply issues have prevented me from getting one.

I appreciate the design work you have put into this.

Side note/suggestion: I might turn the Auxbeam backward facing the firewall, because the space between the smart battery protect and the slots to run +/- wires through is tight. Adding side tabs to the square spacer to mount the Auxbeam higher would solve this issue. I can send pictures if needed.
