The new Honda Pilot might be taking over the segment. This thing don't look half bad in the Trail Sport trim.

I can see some potential Sequioa buyers going for the Honda.

If the new Ridgeline follows suit. The midsize truck market better watch out.

I had a 2008 Honda pilot and the VTM clutch packs worked great when I had a tire in the air.

The problem is, macphersons have tires in the air all the damn time due to lack of travel. So it's great that it can put the power down, but the 4runner can relax the sway bars and make proper contact.

Honda has a huge identity problem, way too expensive and way too many issues.

I saw a honda car in Sasebo Japan in 73.
Motorcycle engine. Small enough that 2 of us could have moved it. They have come a long ways.

Lame. The next gen 4runner will crush this off road. Honda Pilot drivers are more concerned about soccer practice.

Nah, no competition to the 4runner or Sequoia, maybe the rav4 or highlander

IDK Honda isn't going to sway any Toyota purists away from the 5gRunner. Honda might draw the crowd who wants an offroad looking SUV and is more focused creature comforts doodads and musical chairs, factor in pricing, availability, and slightly better mpgs. The 5th gen does not measure up, if you're all about BOF there's only the 4Runner in the midsize segment.

I agree more Highlander & Rav shoppers will be looking at the Pilot, since they will be cross shoping the CRV also. Price and availability are going to be bigger factors moving forward.

The new standard Pilot look a lot like the Highlander which now has a turbo.

Looks like a great daily driver, but off road no thanks. If it has a cvt tranny then double the no thanks for off road.

Push button shifter the Pilot isn't for me.

I see an average of at least 20 different T4R on the road daily, none of them are off road always on the pavement.

Very true, but we like to pretend we go off road or can go off road and concur all. lol. Dont like the push button shifter and wish we could still get manual 4wd shifter.

Id say the only competition the 4runner has is the bronco, just cause its setup similar, body on frame, ifs, solid rear axle with coil springs. And the fucking bronco raptor is a beast
