Sorry if this has been covered already but I searched for a while and couldn't find anything pertaining to this exact problem.

The previous owner of this truck wired the factory blinkers to be fog lights that come on with the headlights and wired the turn signals into the DRL corner markers using the DRL bulb (no more DRL's). When I use the blinker I get the hyperflash, I'm assuming because the 168 bulb is so small, but when I turn on the hazard lights they flash at normal speed.

Do I just need to install a resistor or is there a bigger bulb I can use that will help? What's confusing me is the fact that I get the normal flashing speed with the hazard button.

All the lights are halogen with the exception of the headlights, which are Sylvania LED's and the fog light bulb which is pictured below.

Do the same 4 bulbs flash with your hazard lights ?

2 on the right and 2 on the left?

No telling what kind of mess you have. A separate flasher might have been added for the turn signals .

When it was stock the same flasher for The Hazard lights as Turn Signal.

You need to change the relay. I don't have specifics off hand but if you do a forum search in the first gen you should find what you're looking for. Search for LED relay or hyperblink relay.

Thanks guys, that did the trick!

I guess the single 168 bulb when using the blinker didn't have enough wattage for the factory relay but both of them together when using the hazards was enough to not trigger the hyperflash.

I also went ahead and swapped out the 168 halogens for some superbrite amber LED's, now maybe people can actually see the blinker flashing in the day time. I did confirm first that it stopped the hyperflash with the halogens though.
