Nice to see FRV hauling something other than a green Tacoma. :boink: j/k

House sounds like it's coming along nicely. Post up some pics!

We just got back from SE Oregon, exploring around. 16° the first night, then snowed on us the next (but was ~28°, so much more pleasant). Forecast the final night was for sustained 45-50mph winds with rain and gusts to 65. Bailed on that, hahaha.

Just happened to stumble on some petroglyphs and a hot spring that we had no idea we'd see, as well as a couple old WWII plane crashes and half a dozen old homestead ruins. Pretty fun trip.

Moar house pics. Inside. Of progress. :D It's looking great though. Very nicely situated on the lot from that first photo of it behind FRV.

Does the hay mean that there are horses on the property already? For some reason, I thought you two were waiting on that for the house being done.

We are starting a kitchen remodel. First step is building the cabinets, so that once demo starts, everything can be back together as quickly as possible (still probably months, given everything else we have going on). Had 60 sheets of prefinished maple ply delivered, and now cutting them up into (what feels like) billions of pieces. It's really just 275 pieces though.

Thats awesome you're doing your own cabinets. Wish I could. Would have saved me 20k haha

Will take some photos soon. Bit hard now as it's usually pretty dark when we go up there now especially now that we are back on freaking lame ass standard time.

The location of the house is awesome. Cost me a lot though with running utilities which I didn't know it would...but no regrets.

Horse is getting moved up at the end of the month hopefully. Have a shelter on order for him and just doing temp electric fence for now. Got tired of paying $400 a month for shit care, the damn lady can't even keep the water tank full. So for $400 a month we can have a shelter instead and just have him up there. Going to really make our lives suck for a while especially with this puppy, I'm sure i'll end up feed it more than I'd like since its on the way sort of to Tippet. But whatever.

It's quite the assortment, but I would say most are 6 to 6 1/2. I don't see much 5', occasionally I see 5 1/2, but around here you need at least 6 to keep a bite in the ground.

Saved a bunch this year I was going to scrap at the end of the year but you are welcome to them if you need them

6' would be fine. I'll figure out something to come get some. Better than the plastic temp posts I was going to use with just a few T posts here and there.

Lot of ranchers have moved to high tensile electric fences because of cost. Basically braces in your corners with the fiberglass posts every 50'. Just takes a couple hits from the fence and they don't mess with much anymore. I assume you are using the plastic tape though?

Yeah she wants to use the tape. But the horse has been in electric fence his whole life so he doesn't try and test it anymore. Does good.

    Or so I'm told haha

Yea it's a lot to do it all at once. Won't be long and you'll just be on the maintenance schedule. It's always something ha

I like your spot. Gonna be so nice.

Ha yeah I'm sure. Plus addition construction giving I'll want to get the garage insulated quickly. Might just do DIY foam for that though, pretty affordable. Then studio build. Plus house side projects like some cabinets. And things that we are going to wait and do later myself hopefully.

The spot is so nice. I feel bad almost not building a house worthy of it in some ways.
