Anyone have anything like this but more inexpensive? It's $170 and to me for what it is, that seems a bit high. Husky makes something very similar. It's $15 but it's only 31" or so. I'd like something close to the 56ish" our beds are.
    Thanks.

I was wondering about this as well. $170 seems ridiculous

some people will put a cargo net across the area.

    could use multiple smaller bins.

otherwise, i'd take a saturday to casually walk through every department at tractor supply, farm and fleet, home depot, and a home goods store to see what fits the length/width dimensions, and if it could be cut down to work while staying well under budget.

there might be a budget feed trough, or concrete mixing tub that would work.

@soundman98 I was thinking the same thing, I looked around for some troughs and other types of bins online for a bit and I didn’t see anything with just the right dimensions, to keep cost minimal op is most likely gonna have to make a bin the right size.

looks like the one in the photo is secured with a tension rod so you could accomplish that for $30 with a shower curtain rod or salvage one if possible

that's what appears to be in the picture.

i've got one as well, and it's one of the best things i keep in the bed, next to 4 of the 10' self-retracting ratchet straps.

this is one of those things that is likely best done in-person, as it's not going to be under typical search terms. the flaw of computers is that they only return results that meet specific conditions. there's no great way to specify to a computer 'something that holds things, with 'x' dimensions'. it's why i keep a dusty old mcmelectronics and digikey catalogs by my computer. i know what i want, and the dimensions i need that will work, but can't well articulate it in computer terms to get what i need, but someone sells something somewhere i can make work.

and it never hurts to ask the employees either. there might even be something they sell that comes in a 'disposable' injection-molded shape like a tub that they just toss in the garbage every day and will give away for free.

could even make something out of 1x1 wood stakes, drywall screws, large washers, and a free refrigerator box.

So true. I really miss the old Digikey and McMaster catalogs.

Don't rule out using several smaller plastic bins or boxes and connecting them with a threaded rod or other similar dowling. Almost completely adjustable at that point when it is modular.

I kept it simple, a board with offset hangers that fit in the bed wall detents - allows two locations when reversed - and holes that allow bungee cords or straps to pass through as tie down points. Low cost, little weight, easily removed and hauled when not needed.

20210107_163447.jpg 20210107_163456.jpgLooks great! Really depends on your skill set and available materials. Made this from stuff I had laying around in the shop and the tie downs that came with the truck. It was free other than my time.

I think I'm going with this route. Lowe's has a solid crate that'll meet my needs for this.

Trunk organizer. 20 bucks. Can be used in cab or in bed. Folds and stores behind the rear seat.

If it don't fit in that, ratchet strap it.
