I want to be able to lock or unlock my truck from my phone. I don’t plan on needing a remote start option right now. Is the CarLink module the best option? I don’t see any other options when I search for this functionality.

Download the Toyota App. Enter your VIN. You can use it to lock and unlock the car, start it, view miles driven, gas consumed, notifications. It's free, until it isn't anymore. You should have been informed about "Remote Services" when you purchased the truck. I think it's free for a year from the date of vehicle purchase. If your vehicle is a manual, or the multi-media system is the lowest-end, I don't think you can use it because the multi-media system in the truck doesn't support it.

I have that app setup but I only see options for safety connect and Wi-Fi connect.

What happens when you select "Add Service"?
Remote Services is the one you want.
When did you purchase the truck?

The app was kind of nice when I first purchased the truck. Once I forgot where I parked the car. :bananadead: To be honest, I haven't used the app much if at all 2months into ownership.

Is your only desire to remote start the vehicle?

I got the truck 2 months ago. I haven’t seen a remote services option. I just want to lock and unlock the car right now.

I guess I'd call Toyota and ask them by VIN if the head unit in the vehicle supports Remote Connect.

    SR5 doesn’t have remote lock/unlock, I don’t believe
