Yes, I checked the battery cables. How long do 2021 Tacoma batteries generally last. I havent left anything on. Granted its 10 degrees out, but dead battery in 2 yrs? Are there known trickle leaks or something? This is rediculous.

Any battery can die on any vehicle at any time. At least its under warranty still!

Does anyone know how Toyota replaces a battery under warranty? I obviously have to buy a battery to get to the dealership. Do they reimburse somehow?

I was also getting the 30,000 mile maintenance alert with the yellow triangle. at least that’s what I thought it was.

So in your personal opinion, how long should a battery last? Should it last the life of the vehicle?

You don't have to buy a battery. Jumpstart your truck.

From what I understand, there is no reimbursement. You get another Toyota battery with the truck present

20 years  regardless of the environmental impact. Toyota batteries (even though it's a rebranded battery, Toyota don't manufacture their own batteries by the way) should be able to absorb extreme heat and withstand freezing temperatures.

Yes, Toyota will/may reimburse, but there are caveats. My 2017's battery went dead on a Sunday and I had to buy my own battery. Called Toyota (not the dealership) and they worked out what I had to do. They told me to go to the dealership and they verified that the battery was faulty and not an alternator or crappy terminals. After that, a check came in the mail for the full amount.

Sorry to hear that. It’s not as cold in New Jersey, but I recently traded my 2016 Taco for a 2022 Tundra. After 6 1/2 yrs, the battery was just fine.

with all the parasitic drains on these newer vehicles, rfid, smart keys, door handles, being connected to toyota, xm, etc... you really should put the battery on a battery tender once every other month or so. just short daily driving may not fully recharge it. leaving the battery in a lower charged state will end it's life prematurely. charge your batteries, even if the truck is new.
