What are your long term plans for the truck? Bilstein 5100s are a great way too freshen it up that are budget friendly, there's also oem takeoffs that are even cheaper.

Had to smile so at over 350,000 miles you want to upgrade - why as the rest of the trucks frame and engine are nearing end of life I'd say so save the money and drive it till it dies and buy a new or newer one. Maybe some new shocks/struts all around and leave it. Bilsteins rear about $100 each and fronts like $225 each but then install and alignment - that opens another can of worms or rust/frozen as alignment bolts may be junk so new needed more time/money. Hard decision.

I don't know where you are located but if you count in Km you are probably in Canada. It's clear that you want to keep the truck running if you ask that at this Km, but if it's the first time you touch the suspension you need to keep in mind that you will probably need, new LCA,UCA, sway bard busching. Cam bolt will need to be changed also, Tie-rod/ sway bar link maybe but if you are there change them. For the rear suspension new leaf/busching, u-bolt and busching.

Here in Canada, Elka have the IFP 2.0 for around 2400$ you have 2 front shock and 2 rear shock if you want to go pricy (you can rebuild them) you can adjust the front lift with the coilover. The Bilstein 6112/5160 combo seem to be a good choice on a budget. If you can get the 550lbs/in or 600lbs/in coil, many front shock are sold with spring who are too stiff.

For the bushing you can go OEM Toyota, but i found the Whiteline or energy suspension stuff to be well made and seem to last.

For the rear leaf. To be honest the ICON RXT with the 3 option available (they give you a spare leaf and you can switch between option) is hard to beat BUT, the option 2 and 3 will give you rear lift (and this ca go up to 3 inch with the 3 option with no weight).

It's at least a 4K$ job in Canadian pesos if you go the quality/pricy way with some good 2.0 shock. You can always check the used market because if you find some FOX/ICON/ELKA shock set you can always get them cheap and send them to be rebuilt.

Myself (if you check my profile) i took the overkill/sell your kidney way but my truck had only 216 000 Km when i did the upgrade. Wallet still crying but i have no regret.

The 2.7lL is immortal if you change your oil. I'm sure many people will agree that the suspension on the Tacoma is not top notch. It's hard on the road and if you put some weight in the rear the leaf will sag in a year.... For the price, just for an example when i did the upgrade un 2021, the rear leaft at Toyota, for a pair with bushing and u-bolt was costing around 900$ CAN at the dealer, a new set of ICON RXT was around 1100$ with the bushing and u-bolt. If you look at the big picture you will miss that some part cost maybe 200-300 more than the OEM one and will probably outlast them.
The shock are another storie i think they are like 200$ each but i think they don't come with the spring so you need to add that.

Take a sheet, put some number and if your truck payment are done, well it's alway cheaper to replace than take another loan for the next truck....

Guess it all depends on the condition of the truck

Truck is in good condition no rust on boby , under carriage inspected by toyota rust recall and was massaged as they felt necessary. Many new parts in lower front end including steering rack , wheel bearings, upper lower ball joints, sway bar link, axle seals.
If I invest more $$$ in suspension, all I ask is getting a better ride in return. How can I be confident a coil spring/shock absorber 1 price unit after market will give me this and what brand ? Is there a end date on coil springs? Or only shock absorbers
    Thanks in advance for replies
