Looking at getting some new meaner looking headlights for the truck, but stuck between the Form Lighting set and Spyder auto set. Struggling with the difference between the DLR set ups and what will work for my truck vs. what won’t. Any help is greatly appreciated, I’ve attached some screen grabs of the two I’m looking at. Obviously I’m hoping the Spyder gets some love so that my wallet doesn’t get hurt too bad, but don’t want to skimp. Open to other suggestions entirely as well! Thank ya. 48B8C07D-BCC8-4772-9EF5-2CB23B6BEF53.jpg64E1867B-79A7-4C81-A18B-F3BCEBBF59DB.jpg

Stay as far away from Spyder as you can, their optics are absolutely terrible across all platforms they make lighting for. Morimoto or OEM are the only ones I can recommend.

As others have said, stay away from Spyder. Cheap Amazon junk will perform worse than a stock halogen, it's a legitimate downgrade and also dangerous in some cases. I run morimotos and love them.
You will get far worse performance with any light set under $1000. Even then, brands like Alpharex are known for QC issues. If you can't pony up that amount than stick to stock.

I will throw a wrench into this. The Spyder Halogen headlights are a good candidate for a retrofit since it is very easy to do on those compared to OEM. You can get brackets for them that allow you to put almost any aftermarket projector in them very easily. Just take the lens off (easy because it's butyl), remove the old projector, install bracket, install projector and reinstall the lens.

The Form lighting assemblies are still chinese made run of the mill stuff. Maybe better than other chinese brands like Alpharex. But OEM LED, upgraded bulbs in OEM housings or what I suggested above will give the most output.

Oh man you're gonna get some flak for this. Hah.

I have a set of used Spyders for sale if you want to try them out. I like mine, sure the output isn't as good as stock but I like them and in the end it's my truck. If mori or OEM ever make something not so cookie cutter I'll probably then upgrade.
