I am honestly trying to stay at about $100. If anyone has one they'd sell I'd be interested possibly. It's not necessary but I just like how its out of the way and usable. @ncflyer

Thank you! I might order that! It's not OEM right? It's just very similar? @wilcam47

I ordered the OEM step and can say it was well worth the money. I think I paid about $165 on sale last year. I use it all the time. Not sure about the quality of aftermarkets, but I think the addition of the step is well worth it.

You will not regret this purchase, but I recommend you suck it up and buy the OEM one. It's not that expensive.

That's the way I have done it since I was a kid in my Dad's old Tacomas. Now that I have my own I just wanted to get the step because they make it now. I don't disagree at all. I typically just jump on the tailgate. That is the best and original way of doing it. :kona: @maineah

When you eventually get old and fat, you will want that tailgate step.

I tried ordering the OEM bedstep, PT39235100, from Battlefield Toyota over the Thanksgiving holiday to take advantage of Black Friday ($167 delivered) and they had told me that Toyota was no longer sending the bedsteps to Dealers b/c of a design flaw/recall. The person I talked with also said that any dealers that had the bedsteps in stock had to return them back to Toyota as well.

Looks like aftermarket is the way to go... AMP-research, I believe is the company that makes the bedstep for Toyota is asking $290 on their website.
