I have a 2017 with JBL, will this work? I know the answer is probably in here somewhere but was hoping to get it to the top. Also would like to retain XM if possible. Thanks, gents!

Just got this unit, with a PAC harness from Crutchfield. Will this effect any if my parking or blind spot sensors?

Well, I did a firmware update and the Siri robot has gone away. But now the Apple CarPlay icons and maps are tiny. Anyone had this problem or know the fix?

After much research especially thanks to this thread. I have acquired ALMOST everything I need to complete my audio build.

I haven’t figured out what to do with the microphone. I might just pull out the OE mic, install the pioneer mic in place and cover it with hot glue. Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated

I saw that. If I understand correctly, this is for models that have the mic in the overhead console.

my 22’ model has the mic placed in front of the driver sun visor. I thought about doing it anyway, but figured I can hot glue gun like I’ve seen someone do and it worked out very well.

The supplied microphone (one that comes with the 6600) will fit nicely in the overhead location of the 22'.

I can’t trigger the reverse camera.

i can view the camera by tapping on the icon, but it does not trigger on reverse.

according to crutchfield the trigger wire is gray on the gray 28 pin harness.
However, on the Maestro harness I don’t see a pin.

Shouldn’t the harness come with this pinned? Purple with white stripe.
There is a purple with white stripe cable that the diagram calls. on the harness it goes from the pioneer to the Maestro box on the green 10 pin.
on the black 18 pin from the maestro to the 28pin harness, there is no purple with white stripes.

pioneer settings have been checked. Camera enabled. Demo mode turned off

Small update. I called iDatalink and confirmed that the 28-pin harness does not have the gray reverse trigger wire pin. You'll have to manually tap into the gray wire on the OE 28-pin harness to the purple/white wire on the iDatalink harness.
Slight annoyance because they know this but force you to tap it.

Anyway... I've adjusted all the settings and have it sitting flush in the dash. I have not yet swapped the speakers, and two things stuck out to me. First, the stock HU output is trash. Second, the OE speakers are bad lol

Another thing I noticed. I have the ability to activate reverse camera anytime.
I put a shortcut on the HU for ease.

I have not installed my front cam yet. I was going to program the mode button (long press) to activate the front cam.

anyone who has a front camera (nakita) what did you choose as your power source?

I have previously used the head unit to control both front and rear cameras, with shortcuts built for direct access. I used the amp activation wire coming off the head unit to power the front camera. Power is sufficient for the camera as long as you are not putting any other loads on the circuit.

Note: I found this method to power and activate the front camera to be cumbersome, forcing you to take your eyes off the road to activate the cameras.

Note: If you are going to use the amp trigger for any additional loads, I built a rely that activates a battery powered buss bar. The amp trigger is used to trigger the standard relay with the power source coming off the battery. I used this relay/buss bar setup to provide triggered power to my onboard camera system (front and rear), radar detector, and anytime camera (I use a GERMS controller, rather than the head unit as I can activate it via the steering wheel controls). Post install of the GERMS controller, I have also played with the additional load activation capability of the MAESTRO RR2. There are three programable switch inputs on the RR2 that can be setup to activate 3x simple loads. This video will discuss this concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC5sHuGOwOs

Leaving the GPS antenna sitting on top of the HU inside the dash is not a good idea.

maps is off quite a bit. I was trying to avoid mounting to the windshield.

I have had mine mounted on top of the air duct just under the center of the dash since I first installed this unit back two years ago. No issues with maps. Both Google and Apple maps are spot on.

I think I have mine in roughly that spot but not sure, no nav on my unit in the ‘05. I’d prefer it bolted in but haven’t found a clean guide for that.

I guess I got lucky. I ordered everything from Crutchfield and the only extra thing I had to pick up was the GPS antenna adapter. I didnt have to splice any VSS or reverse wires. With the pio1 harness the only wire connection I had to make was to connect the blue power lead from the antenna adapter to the pioneer harness. Everything is working well so far!

Can you list what you got from Crutchfield?

I'm working on consolidating all the info, and maybe OP can edit the first post.

    Here's what I ordered:

1st Order (Head Unit and all install items recommended by Crutchfield)
    Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX
TOYK9714 Dash Kit (Black) (not needed but included in installation kit)
Metra 109-UN02 Floating Kit (Black) (not needed but included in installation kit)
    Metra 40-LX11 Antenna Adapter
    iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module
iDatalink HRN-HRR-TO2 (ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 module also required)
    iDatalink ACC-HU-PIO1

2nd Order (GPS adapter not included in Crutchfield's recommended accessories)
    iDatalink ACC-SAT-TO2

I am an idiot and didn't read what I ordered so I ordered another ACC-HU-PIO1 when I was programming the Maestro. If anyone wants it PM me and I'll send it your way for free.

One negative thing about this unit is the wireless CarPlay.
I noticed that if I start the truck and start driving right away while the HU is still booting up (which takes about 10-15 seconds), there's a big chance that CarPlay will not connect. I would guesstimate that about 90% of the time, it will not connect. To make it more frustrating, the "Connectivity" app can't be used in motion. Attempting to connect when stopped results in failure. So far, the workaround for this has been to power cycle my phone, then try to connect again. Disabling wifi/bt or putting it in airplane mode has not worked for me.

If I wait for the HU to boot up before I start moving, it successfully connects ~99%

I may go back to wired CarPlay
