Needle Bearing vs. ECGS

    Most differentials across manufacturers say
    $30 75w-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)
    75w-90. Toyota is no different in that regard.

    Engine oils see the largest diversity across global regions but diff oil remains pretty constant.

    The front differential was never designed for a bushing nor 85w-140 so that needs to be taken into consideration when making your choice.

    As mentioned earlier the CV essentially floats in the bushing on a layer of oil but that layer only exists with viscosity it was engineered for.

    What is the part number for seal that could possibly get damaged while changing the needle bearing out? I want to have one ready when I do the swap in case I damage it. 2020 trd sport premium

    ECGS recommends Dino (Non-Synthetic) 85w140 Lucas oil with a Ford or Dana limited slip additive for clutch style posi's.

    This is the reference that i have regarding 85/140 and ECGS.

    Did I miss something along the way?

    I have the bushing and use 75/90 in the front

    Have a mix of 80/90 and 85/140 in the rear. No issues. It’s all I could find down here. Rear is a bit quieter.

    Edit: I have around 56k miles on my bushing.

    ECGS told me to run 85w140 dino in the front diff. I had the bushing in my 2nd gen for almost 60k before I sold the truck. No issues.

    No, spec oil is not bad for the bushing. ECGS has a post on their website with more on the subject.
