Weathertech Recovery Rope

Anyone seen this yet? I'm no expert in them nor have any real use for one but just an observation.

$275 wow, even with the soft shackles.

 

They're out of their minds at that price. Get an ARB strap;

I thought the same thing as I don't wheel, but decided to get one made by a member to have jic. Well, I've helped several people stuck in snow banks since I've had it and it's there for me in case I ever get stuck I can be pulled with it. Tucked right in with my jumper cables. Would recommend.

 

Is that a good price? I'm not in the market for one but still wonder how it compares to other brands.

 

Double the price of many I’ve looked at. Now typically the shackles are sold separately but still quite pricey.

 

Yeah I thought was a lot for a simple strap and 2 hooks. I knew enough from the little reading on here that a kinetic rope was what to buy so I bought one from Rural King and keep it in the truck as one of those just in case things.

 

Why is weathertech getting into the recovery market? Are they upset that somebody used their floor mats as a traction board?


Whoever's rope this really is, it's probably rebranded and upcharged.

 

They also sell bathroom products now, like a little doohickey to hood your razors in the shower. Just…odd.

 

There's only one shower attachment that's appropriate for my house.

I wouldn't be surprised they are making them in house. I live not to far from the factory and they've expanded a bit. I dont know for sure but it looks like they have added at least 2 or 3 if not more buildings in the last few years! Even if they aren't made by Weathertech they're still made in the USA

I have the ARB, but I’ve switched to Voodoo Ropes, as they are dirt cheap right now, package better and come with a bag.

I picked up a 3/4” and 7/8” for $100 out the door shipped.

 

How well do the kinetic ropes handle mud, salt slush.

I've always used log chains, drug them throw mud, snow, road salt, rain. I just rinse them off after the weather turns warmer, there isn't much care needed.

 

Let’s just say I’d rather wear out a $39 strap that is designed to sling shot out a stuck vehicle, than worry about dying from a snapped chain.

I’ve never worried about dirt and mud on mines. You can rinse them in a bucket with some dish soap if needed.

Soft shackles are $10 each, splicing and chafe gear another $35 or so.
