What kind of insulation/tape is everyone using to fix their interior rattles? Also, does anyone know why the windows rattle when cracked and idling? Is there hardware inside the door that becomes loose? Or is it just the cold weather?

right now, my A-pillar trim is vibrating on my windshield (i think). it makes a high pitch buzzing noise which is driving me crazy. also have a clicking noise from coming from the headliner area near the top back of my access cab door.

Piece of felt or foam tape by A-pillar. Major one is between that and speaker grill. The window rattle, had that on my 2nd gen as well. Never pulled it apart to investigate.

i don't have the window rattles yet but, i do have dash rattles and squeaks and had the ticking noise from the access cab doors. the crappy materials and fit and finish of this truck is my biggest complaint...so far. i have never owned a vehicle this bad.

if the ticking noise from the access cab doors is like mine, i had to remove the panel and install tape over the mating surfaces. the two biggest culprits were the metal supports below the window. the plastic door panel would vibrate on them and make a ticking noise. i covered the metal supports with gorrilla tape and it solved the problem. i also put tape and sound deadening material elsewhere while i had the panels off. it is 1000% better.

after i re-installed the access cab door panels, i put a few pieces of tape around the edges to hold them tight against the metal door frame. i am not sure they were needed but i wasn't dealing with the ticking noise again. the pieces of tape look like crap but no one sees it but me when the doors are open.

as for the dash rattles and noises, i solved one simply by putting significant pressure above the radio, uh i think it's now called a head unit. the others i haven't solved them yet. they come and go. i had one this morning that i even pulled over to try and move shit around to make it stop. ufb. good luck.
