Damnit, misquote. Meant to quote the person who's favorite was an AR.

Favorite military weapon I've ever shot: MG-42
    Favorite that I own: M14 (M1A, actually)
The best military weapon? A FAC on the ground with a good radio.

For sure, those MREs aren't going to open themselves.

I saw the K Bar my kids were issued before going to Iraq. I then went out and bought them good knives.

K Bars are proof that you get what you pay for when you select the lowest bidder.

Crazysccrmd... you are a youngster...i ate C Rats for 13 months long before MRE's were a wet dream in some ones mind. Your correct K Bars are used to open C Rats.

Jeepnik....I'm surprised that an Air Cadet even knows what a K Bar is. Is it true , the air force only serves two flavors of Ice Cream at chow?

As I stated I saw the crap the USMC issued. As to ice cream, back in 1971, you’re right. The soft serve machines only had vanilla and chocolate.

I used an SR25 with a match trigger in it. A lot of my buddies had 16-inch stainless tubes on their guns with match triggers as well.
usually on Afghanistan guns, we needed additional reach in that terrain

use a chamber brush and switch ammunition.

I've experienced the same with an M2, we changed barrels and switched cans. In contact.

That’s cuz you’re a Tier one special operator. I was just an under trained 18 yo kid. Oh that and we didn’t have spare barrels, broken shell extractors and such.

Then too, even if I’d have had such things I doubt they’d let me call a time out for the half hour I watched the armorer take to fix it.

I suppose I could watch Seal Team or play a video game and learn all I would need to be a “special “ kind of guy.

I am neither attempting to aggrandize or aggravate when I say this:

My drill sergeant in basic training taught me how to treat that malfunction

I had one. DPMS. When I was a contractor. The lack of a giggle switch didn't bother me- I never used it when I was in the mil.

Funnest to shoot? M134, just cause. Most useful in a fight? MK47 AGL. What I used when it mattered the most? M4 w/ MK18 upper and all the flair, and a G19. I don't really know aircraft- other than how to open doors, operate the seat belts, check anchor line cables, attach and release fast ropes, retrieve static lines- stuff like that. And how to request for them to make things go boom. Never was invited into the front seat and never wanted to be in one anyway.

M-134 or GAU-19. Lots of hate going down range with those bad units.
