Now it's leaking. I only replaced it because I had the entire driveshaft off to replace the ujoints. Now I'm regretting it. Not even sure how much transmission fluid I've lost. I got a new seal already but I'm trying to figure out my game plan this weekend. Should I use Permatex 82180 Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker to fill in the damage.

Don’t know either but it’s working now.

Hard to see extent of damage for me personally, but no doubt the experts will chime in to answer your main question. Assume the damage was from whatever hand tool you used to help remove the seal?

Buff the edges with some sandpaper (take care not to let the dust into the case) and use a small dab of RTV when you re-install the seal.
