So, I just got my '19 a week ago and when I buy a vehicle, I like to purchase a service manual.
Now I know I can very easily enough, get the downloaded one (I have that), but my question is, does a service manual for 3g Tacomas exist in a physical form? I like to have a book instead of looking on a phone or other electronic device. I like paper. Again, I know a downloaded one can be easily had but those are around 11k pages long (and sort of a pain to navigate), so I am betting a physical copy doesnt exist, but I could be wrong.
I have asked a Toyota dealer near me and the only thing they did was direct me to helmic.com and on there, you can only get a owners manual.
    Do physical copies exist?

No, they’ve gone to all digital subscription service. Sucks.

Well that does suck. I like having a book near me when I work on a ride. I guess it wouldnt make sense for them to not to have one since the downloaded one is so large. That book would be a beast in size

Yeah, it’s not really a book. Toyota sells it as a subscription to a web app sort of thing. The 11000 page beast is what someone pieced together after downloading sections. That’s not how Toyota distributes it. The subscription would be much better but it’s very expensive. Something like $25 for a 2 days, $100 or so for a month (I don’t remember), and $700 for a year.

Last time I tried to buy the subscription for 2 days I couldn’t even figure out how to do it. It brought me to a snap-on webpage after I paid and made me create an account and login, which it wouldn’t let me make an account because I have a snap on account, but it wouldn’t let me use that to sign in with. It was very confusing so I gave up and bought a month of ALLDATA for $20. That was a better choice but I don’t know that ALLDATA is always the best choice.

Couldnt you download it as a pdf, print it out, three whole punch it and then put it in a binder?

I looked at AllDate and they had a yearly subscription for 60 bucks I believe. There was a monthly and a 3 yr subscription as well. That was a few days ago. I dont think 60/yr is too terrible, its just that again, I personally like a paper copy. Paper copies are always king for me

    :notsure:

I've used it with my phone, computer, and a tablet. The nice part is that dirty hands don't mess up touchscreens. Not too bad. Just be sure to kill the screen timeout.

Looks like the ole Ipad will be going out to the garage with me from time to time. I appreciate the link. That is much easier to navigate over that downloaded one that I have

I dont know much about Tacoma's yet, so I wonder if that '19 is all that different in terms of things like general maintenance from the previous yrs

Yeah. You might actually like it after a bit of transition.

I do like it more than the PDF also. The PDF has an index, but it is harder to navigate than that site.

Dang it, you’re making me get up out of my chair to go to the computer so I can seen your sig. I’ve seen your sig many times but must have missed a service manual reference in there.

I appreciate that the PDF was put online, but right off the rip on page one, I can tell it wouldnt be easy to use. It does seem pieced together. Your link will make it easier

Here is a link with a preview of the Haynes content.

I have a PDF copy of the service manual floating around on TW, but have not needed to refer to it. In 7 years, I’ve changed brakes, plugs, fluids and done regular maintenance, so have not needed a manual.

Yeah, I figure once I do some of that stuff a couple of times, I wont need to refer to much on. I am still curious if that book would be usable for the '19 and above (maintanance wise). I would think so, but again.....I am very new to the Tacoma world
