Engine firewall is getting chewed up by rodents, even with a noise and light deterrent. Would you cut this out and replace it with foil heat barrier? Cut it out completely? Or just leave it?B08721DA-0C1E-4BDB-A99E-D984045E8509.jpg

I'd be putting the rat bait blocks in flat spots with hot glue , double sided tape, zip ties etc..maybe a piece of metal window screen over the attacked area too..although that may drive them to chew on something way more expensive..poison, poison..plus sticky traps are in order quickly before it turns into a $8k wiring harnesses replacement..

Interesting, I bought a 2017 in September and my firewall looked similar to this. I'm definitely going to replace it.

At least they didn't go after the wiring.

I've found two different part numbers online: 55210-04140 and 55223-04050.

Pretty significant difference in price between the two, and not enough information on the specifics of each one.

I have had squirrels eat that wiring harness that one can see in your photo. Luckily my local auto repair facility fixed the wires at a cost of around $250.00. Under my insurance deductible; otherwise, looked like insurance was going to pay. Before the wiring harness, they got my clutch fluid hose that I repaired. They did that twice. Then they chewed my fuse box cover making a hole in it that I repaired.
