    Hey all

First time poster. Here because I can't find any conversation online otherwise.

I "placed an order" ($500 downpayment) for a '23 SR5 Tacoma in early December. Was browsing Toyota's site and noticed a big increase in sales price. Previously, the SR5 was going for ~44,000 and is now ~47,000. Emailed the dealership and they're telling me I'll have to honour that price change. Do I have any recourse or just have to deal with it?

You could walk away and give up $500 instead of the $3000 price increase.

No idea what to tell you.
I placed an order in August 2021 for a Tacoma TRD PRO in Manual Transmission, I got the call in November that it will be here in January at 64,500 CAD (about 48,500USD).
I thought that was a bit steep but reading your post now I'd gladly pay 49k for a pro than 47k for a sr5.
Shop around, you might be able to find a SR5 for lower they're quite common compared with the RDS trims.
I also saw a couple of new TRD on the Facebook groups for less than 47k

Could you PM me these facebook groups? Had no idea - I've been going through my local dealership (Ontario). Never bought a new vehicle before so I am naive.

Those were FB groups in the US.
3rd Gen Tacoma, Tacoma World, etc.
I assume you are in Ontario Canada?
47k seems legit as the CAD vs USD took a dive in the recent months and there's another Bank of Canada interest increase expected in the following weeks.
My line of credit was at 2.49% last year around this time, now I'm at 7.49%

I see the 20203 Off-road increased by $500… Placed my order in December with $5,000 as a down payment, will see if they honor what I signed with all the numbers…

Go back and read the fine print on the agreement in which you paid the $500 to. I'm sure that it does not, in any way, guarantee the truck to be sold at any given price.

Your $500 was simply a voucher for the "opportunity" to purchase the next truck they have available (you bought a spot in line).

No big deal if such happens, will be paying cash for the truck when it arrives…

Well, my 2023 TRD PRO M/T got here, picking it up later on today. Ordered it in August 2021.
Nothing added to it except a bed mat($225), $64k all in.
    Financing is horrible tho, 7.99%
    I'm in Alberta Canada.

I know, my first house was $56k, I paid around $28k for my Tacoma in 2009 but it’s a base model, I’m already getting nervous for my next new truck purchase

Congrats on the new truck and I'm sure you'll love it but dang $64k and a 7.99% loan?!?! Wow... I better keep my truck in good shape as I can't afford a new one...

I bought a PRO at msrp last year. I was a complete dumb ass. I bought an automatic. I sold it this year for exactly what I paid for it. This year I bought a MT PRO and it had a 499.00 dollar I think increase for "premium paint" which I don't remember them charging for the EML. Maybe that's because solar octane is a "pearl"?? Either way. The truck I bought this year was the exact same price + the paint fee. In truth it was a tad cheaper. It had almost no dealer or factory ad ons
