I'm in the market for a back up camera for our Vista Cruiser 19RBS(22' OAL) travel trailer. My wife and I have three outings under our belt with my old 2000 Tacoma as the tow vehicle and I see the appeal to having a BU camera. We'd like to start venturing out a little further now that I have the new truck.

So far, I have my sights on this one that has a 7" screen. Reviews show that it may come with a suction cup mount and maybe a dash pad mount too(both seem like better options that the bracket mount shown:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S2Y1MNM?_encoding=UTF8&language=en_US

Or this one that has a 5" screen. Small footprint looks appealing, dash and suction mount both appear to be included too:
    https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Wireless-Difference-Waterproof-Installation/dp/B07FLZ1HSQ?crid=34F8PDI90PE4H&keywords=back+up+camera+rv&qid=1673801193&sprefix=back+up+camera+rv%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0

    1. This isn't something that I want to keep in the truck normally so a quick and easy way to set it on dash or windshield mount is important.
    2. How much more useful is the 7" monitor vs the 5" monitor? I do find the smaller monitor appealing due to taking up less room on dash, but I'm sure the larger screen may be useful when needed.

I appreciate any advise or other recommendations.

That's pretty cool but it's about double the price of the others. I'd be interested in hearing from someone that has it.... or any of the ones I mentioned.

An alternative is a magnetic dash mount like the Nite Ize Steelie or something similar. That is how I secure my Garmin to my dash; the only downside is looking at the steelie ball when I don't have the Montana 700i out. The magnet is strong enough to hold an iPad Pro in place. I like it because it is secured using that 3M tape that is used for GoPro mounts so it is strong but it can come off if/when I need it to. Better than drilling holes in my dash. Worth your consideration IMO. They usually have these Nite Ize displays in hardware stores, ranch supply stores, or your local Cabellas/ Bass Pro.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I can only say I am to old to learn how to back with a camera

Even Having one My muscle memory just uses the mirrors

Now if the screens were in the place of the side mirrors that might work for me.

    Thanks for the advise.

Funny, I'm not far ahead of you. Back up cameras are still fairly new to me(I'm 50 years old). But I'm learning that they can be very helpful. I've never used a BU camera on a trailer but I do see the usefulness of them. Mounting a 5" right beside the rear view mirror is what I'm leaning toward(I don't like my dashboard cluttered up with devices and gadgets). Only downfall is mounting next to mirror will not allow my visor to go down but I will have a strip of window tint on the windshield that will help.

Just a heads up, the 5” unit mentioned in the thread is on lightning deal today for $79. I’m thinking about it. I originally tried one of those cameras that wifi connects to your phone, however my 26’ ola camper was too far away for signal.
