    Hey Guys,

Anyone used the fellas over at True North Fabrications before? If so, how long did it take to receive your order? Ordered a DIY bumper around Thanksgiving and going on 8 Weeks now still not received any tracking info. Just keep getting a reply, when asked about it, that it's being made and will be shipped. First email said a week or 2 out, next email said would be going out this week, still nothing. Just seeing everyone else's experience since I can't find too much in a TW search. Thanks everyone.

When does your charge back protection for how you paid expire?

I bought mine back in 2019 before they changed owners. This was for a completed welded bumper. Took about 4 weeks to get shipping confirmation but i don't know how they handle things now.

I'm not sure. I need to check on that.

Edit- looks like 90 days. Have a few more weeks.

4 weeks for welded seems a pretty good turn around time. 8 weeks for a DIY kit I'm getting a bit concerned with lead times. Most full welded bumpers start coming into that time frame. I know everything isn't on Amazon time nowadays and I'm a full supporter of smaller businesses having one myself, but when does patience start turning into just too long of a time.

Trying to get a refund will be a bit tough and will take a bit of arguing because according to their terms and conditions states that they will charge 15% cancellation fee if not built or shipped. So if you try and do a chargeback then that's what they will argue to keep something. It will be a debate on whether or not you deserve a full refund due to them not shipping out on a timely manner and if they should keep the cancellation fee. I'd argue that waiting 8 weeks is too long and attach your emails concerning timelines with true north. This, of course, only applies if worse comes to worse. But if your chargeback deadline is creeping up, I would start planning accordingly. Every business is a great, friendly, down to earth, and wouldn't lie until they aren't.

I mean the page for the bumper you ordered shows that it is currently in stock. It has a disclaimer that this is only an estimation and yada yada but still.

tl;dr these situations are tricky as you never know what's really happpening. Hope for the best, plan for the worst, and don't let your protections for losing money expire.

For sure. Thank you for the researched info. It seems like when I ordered it to begin with the timeframe said a couple weeks out. Then when I went to recheck it after a couple weeks to find the lead times it had said could take up to 5-7 weeks. Which obviously usually means on the higher side of things at 7 weeks. We'll see. If it isn't shipped in the next couple weeks I'll be contacting my credit card company.

Just checked on this for you and its heading out today. You should get tracking to your email by the end of the day. Black Friday slammed us with orders but we should be back down to 1-2 week lead times by the end of the month. Sorry for the extra wait on this and let me know what I can do to make it up to you.

Thanks for the reply. No need to make anything up, getting slammed with orders is a good thing for business. I have no worries waiting (been doing it for weeks now) if I had one input, it would be to just keep costumers updated on their orders if a delay takes place, let them know that it's simply taking longer than expected and how the process is moving will help. Not really needed in a week or two, but when you start moving into months and months away, people start to get a little antsy.

I know a guy that knows the owner. I may have camped with the owner at KOH years ago.

There was only one response in this thread when I reached out. :spy:
