I recently ordered a 23 TRD Pro. I’ve been researching for some modifications/add ons I want to do. Some I found answers to, some I thought it would be best to ask here

I ordered it with the Toyota Soft Tonneau Cover, I am looking for a tool box for the bed running the width that will fit under said cover.

    Any suggestions?

I don't think there is anything that fits flush under a tonneau, even a soft one.

Yeah, not 100% sure but I think it's one or the other brother.

I agree. I do not believe you will find a traditional cross bed box that mounts to the rails and also sits under the Tonneau cover. I would measure the height below the tonneau and visit a store like tractor supply that carries a variety of bed boxes that sit in the bed. I bet you will find one that fits the bill that you can mount up against the front bedwall.

If it's under a tonneau, why not use a modular toolbox or storage container? Bed boxes become awfully inconvenient on the rare occasions when you need to use the bed. I personally would rather have modules that can be rearranged, added or removed to suit my task.

These may be ignorant questions as this is my first truck.
Will the cover sit on the rail? If so in theory I could have an open box that would essentially close via the tonneau cover, is that a realistic thing?
@Rock Lobster i want something stationary in there to carry things I’d like to keep on hand, Cables, Gas Can (Until I get a bed rack down the road), portable jack, Patch Kit, Battery Charger, Compressor, Etc)

Covers sit on top of the bed rails and form a seal. The attachment points for the cover will be the inner rail that holds the tie down rings. An open box will positively work. Start with something like a rubber maid tub and take the time to find out what works for you.
