Morning MD! :hattip: Well this day is starting out fun at work… slammed bc of the weather yesterday and what’s coming tomorrow. And currently in Brunswick with a full load of concrete waiting on a site inspection. You’d think the contractor would have had this taken care of ahead of time, right? Sitting here for almost an hour, may be about time for a nap! :pccoffee:

Geez what a start to the morning.

On an unrelated note, I’ve decided to swap out my 33”s and go back to my 265/75/16 Grabber all terrains.

The Yoko’s are awesome but after driving them for a week, it seems like a much smarter decision to leave the all-terrains on the truck instead of running a mud tire when I have a couple cross country trips coming up this year.

I don’t regret buying them at all because I needed to scratch that itch, it was something I had wanted to try out for a loooong time haha

The 5100's have a bushing in the lower mount and a metal sleeve that goes in between the bushings and the stud on the axle. That's what gave me hell, the metal sleeve. I totally forgot about outboarding the shocks, but would definitely see that as a better alternative than the original setup, at least in my experience. The 80 series Tocikos are excellent and bolt on just fine, but then again, I have LC80 springs in the rear, too. I don't know if they'd fit with stock springs or not, but my best guess is that they wouldn't.

As much as I'd love to, I just simply cannot afford them at the moment. But I appreciate the offer. I definitely agree with @hyrule_trd but I also see where you're coming from. Using the funds you collect from that and allocate them elsewhere.

I really wish they made some other choices for 255/85/16. I really want that size tire but just can't justify an MT.

Ugh me too man. I was soo close to getting a 255 but I decided just to say F it and go big. I would immediately get a 255 skinny if they made literally any all terrain tire in that size. It’s super frustrating.

Tell me about it. Especially since they make all kinds of ATs in 255/80/17. But since I bought new 16" wheels not too long ago that's not really an option either.
Although it does make me think about selling my current wheels and buying a set of 17". Lots of money to go that route though.

I’ve been thinking about 17” wheels as well for the tire choices but I just really like the look of 16’s. It is tempting but I’m really trying to get my truck set up and then leave it alone and stop spending so much money lol

Right now my plan is to ride my 265’s until they wear out and then I’ll either get the same tire again or a 285 all terrain.

I also reallyy want a set of bronze SCS ray 10’s, but there’s nothing wrong with my Black Rhino wheels and I have no practical reason to justify that purchase haha

That’s a good point, I did see those coopers while I was doing my research. I never really considered them because of the price and I also saw a lot of “meh” and downright bad reviews.

I’ve got the 255/85/16 s/t Maxx and no issues with them… well, they are pulling to the right now but I think that’s an alignment issue even though It’s “good.”

the only real downside to them is they are E rated and it makes the ride stiff… next set of tires for me will probably be 285/75/16 for a c rated one…
I don’t think they are loud but I’ve been in aviation for 20 years and military so I can’t hear to well anyway

Good question but I’ve not looked and can’t remember from when o got the 255s… I thought there were more lol… maybe I’m wrong.

Edit, took a quick look and all I see are Es…

Yeah that was my issue when I was looking at 285’s also…everything is E rated. I think a while back I found a C rated tire and I made a thread about it because a bunch of websites had the wrong info. Let me see if I can find it.
