I've done my research, Looking to get oem LCA's(48069-04040/48068-04040). Read a lot about mixed reviews for moogs. I really want to save money but i think oem would save me more in the long run. (open to suggestions though, haven't bought them yet lol)
Aside from that would it be recommend using aftermarket camber bolt kits with oem lca. (Ie moog kit K100128 on Amazon) if not can i get the oem parts number for the kit or the parts individually?

I’ve ran aftermarket. As well as installed aftermarket parts into OEM arm.

when they wear out I might spring for OEM next time

at the moment, it costs too much. There is no reason stamped thin steel with some rubber bushings pressed in should cost that much. They probably mark the shit up out of the price.

you still have higher end versions of aftermarket available. I figure if they last me at least 30k/3yr it won’t be a big deal to slap in new ones

only worry is how competent an alignment shop is.
The Tacoma is harder to align the front end on. Loosen the bolts, perform a caster sweep, just CAMMAX or whatever the setting is. Or manually do it and re measure with another caster sweep. While being careful not to bent the tabs. Toyota even says on a stock truck to do it unladen with the front jacked up.

if alignment guy doesn’t know what they’re doing they’ll fuck that up

cars are generally simpler and a matter of toe and go. They have less adjustment points. Caster a fixed point not adjustable. Camber generally the same on both sides and not in need of a subframe shift (fairly simple) if never been in a collision or something to alter it from factory spec

it is for this very reason a vehicle such as above may run 1.5-2hr alignment labor compared to a vehicle with more adjustments can run 3hr

OEM is what, $700? At that point I’d start thinking about welded/fabricated ones that are stronger, better clearance, more articulation; if you plan to keep the truck for a while

Yeah dude, its so expensive. I might just go for moog honestly, get their camber kit and call it a day.

    moog, Mevotech, whatever
name brands you’ve actually heard of
Again within their catalog some of theirs are more expensive claiming to be higher quality
Then you can keep the old spares to rebuild

I wonder if stores that have it offer any sort of warranty

I mean yeah OEM probably comes with peace of mind sleeping better at night knowing it will last longer but comes at a cost

idk about aftermarket cam bolts. I feel like they fit loose compared to OEM and aren’t as good. OEM bolts kit might not cost much more but can be harder to find/take longer to order; hopefully time is on your side to prepare for the job

+ lube/grease them. Idk if some offer zerk fittings
If you do any UCA work, insert the long bolt backwards so it’s easier to remove next time

Every now and again people will have an extra left over set and give it away for free. I have both given a set away and obtained when needed. This is another option to rebuild a set in your spare time with the components of your choice so they’re ready to swap in.

Moog has two version of LCAs. The lower-priced version looks to be the same as the economy ones sold by Dorman, with a no-name ball joint. The slightly higher-priced version appears to use the same greaseable ball joint that Moog sells independently and used in high-end fabricated LCAs by Dirt King, BTF, etc. I would run the higher-priced Moog CK623262/CK623263 with no qualms:

The Moog cam bolts aren't good: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...lem-solver-caster-camber-cam-bolt-kit.317057/
If you don't want to spend the money on OEM, Bison Offroad's kit is an alternative: https://bisonoffroad.com/product/stop-cam-alignment-kit-toyota-tacoma-05-15-4runner-03-09/

^Be prepared to replace the lower uniball bearings every 20,000 miles or so. One of the reasons I went with BTF lower arms:

^What particular problem are you having with your current LCAs to prompt changing them? Are the bushings shot or the ball joint worn?

No direct experience with aftermarket LCAs myself. I got a set of low mileage OEM takeoffs from another member on here.

Would highly recommend sticking OEM cam hardware though based on what I read

Planning on sticking with oem cam hardware for sure. If I can reuse my old ones even better since I don't live in the rust belt. I live in Texas but I'm getting them just incase things go south. Either way I can return them.
