I started ordering parts for a gaming PC for my son that should a be pretty capable setup - here is the plan so far...

Mobo: ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4
    CPU: i5-13600k
GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming 4070 Ti OC
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 32gb
SSD: WD Black SN770 1gb (system) and 2gb (games) NVMe drives
    PSU: Corsair RM850x Shift

Still haven't decided what case to use, I really like the Fractal North but the black version I want is pretty scarce these days.

I need to figure out a good cpu cooler too - high end air cooler or AIO closed loop setup?

Either or. Personally I'd go AIO and get a Thermal Grizzly contact plate. The biggest heat disipation problem with Intel chips is they're not flat in the socket. A contact plate, installed properly, is the only way to go if you want max clocks/boosts.

I didn't even know that was an issue - thanks for the heads up.

It is a bit disgusting that the 4070 Ti is $850 but there aren’t too many alternatives.

Am I a dipshit for contemplating buying one?

No but the fact it has 12GB of memory and leans hard on DLSS 3 would scare me off if I wanted it to last more than one generation. I'd wait for AMD to adjust 7900XT pricing.

I ended up getting a second hand 3080 for now, these prices are stupid. The 4070ti is 1200$ up here in my area.

Honestly, they have settled a bit, and I wonder if AMD can pressure nvidia more to bring prices down over time.

Has anyone replaced an antenna mast on a 2013 t4r? I remember it being a pita to swap the base out, requiring pulling the fender liner as well as going inside under the glove box area on my 2010 taco. The girlfriends antenna did the same thing mine did. Stubby antenna let water in, threads rusted out, and it broke off. Just looking for a good write up and part#s to get it fixed up for her.

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: crap wrong thread. Disregard

Parts pile is growing. So far the motherboard, RAM, and the 1gb NVMe drive are all here. The CPU gets delivered tomorrow.

EDIT: Mrs Taco ordered the PSU and forgot to tell me so that is on the way as well.

If you guys are dropping a couple thousand on a PC to crank through some spreadsheets and watch YouTube you are doing it all wrong.

At first I was thinking you were going to drop the CAD into Cura for a 3D print, but that is WAY cooler.

    Well done, excellent execution!
