I don't have the premium package on my 2021 sport and my fob still works after the subscription ran out

10 mins has always worked well for me…even here. You have to make sure the defrost/heater settings are right and it’s all G2G. Never needed to restart it for another 10 but it’s an option.

I thought the remote start (from the app) was a bit gimmicky, until I used it in my 2022 Camry last summer. It was nice to get in an air conditioned vehicle when it's 110 degrees outside.

Mine worked fine with the fob after the subscription ended, then nadda ... Scored an unused N2, so opted for that over a never-ending war with Toyota to restore it.

One thing I'd say is don't discount the functionality of the app. I had a buddy who's '22 Ford Maverick got stolen from out in front of his house last week, and using the FordPass app he located it & had it back within two hours. The Toyota app also pushes last parked location to the app every time the vehicle is turned off, so for us that GPS location would work just as well.

For my $8/mo, I'm plenty happy to pay for Toyotas app, and not run any risk of voiding an electronics warranty by plugging aftermarket things into my OBDII port.

I agree with you no use to plugging in aftermarket electronics in your new vehicle. Wait till the warranties are over then you can do whatever your heart desires. just saying.
