Looking to get wheelers bump stops… their site says

“Please note: The front lower control arms on these vehicles have two bumpstop locations (forward and rear). Our Superbump Bumpstops mount in the rear location of the control arms. The OEM bumpstop should remain in the front location to assist with harder hits or bottom-outs.”

All install videos show straight up just taking the stock ones off and swapping them.
Is anyone doing this / does anyone have photos of this?

The sumo will but they will be riding on them. There are discussions in that thread of that question and people that have done it. I don’t remember the pages though.

Yeah and for the price point I like the wheelers. I just can’t figure out about keeping or removing the stock bump

I hear ya. The stock bump has the treaded portion on them, so no bolt like the wheelers.

I personally left the factory one is place for the sole reason of assisting with harder bumps as you stated. Why go through the trouble of removing the front factory one if it can be left in and it's not being replaced

This is the install instruction from the page you linked under the tab labeled "Instructions". Looks like you replace the factory bump with these.

if you're on the driver side and you find the first one on the rear of the arm look where it contacts the arm and look there on the front half of the arm. It's just a little guy about an inch thick. Looks nothing like the one you will replace it with and it screws into the frame above the arm. I would go take a picture but it's -20* here

Thanks for the detailed info. Yeah I know where they are I just couldn’t figure out where their bump stop goes if we leave in the oem one.

The 3rd gen tacoma only 1 bump stop on each side up front. All you are doing is taking off the stock one and replacing it with the wheeler's bumpstop. This is how mine sits on a 2" lift.FB7658F8-9C82-4098-8C68-26362597BF76.jpg

Do you notice any difference in ride with the bump stop that close to the control arm? Looks like there is only 1/4 to1/2" before the arms hit the stops. Are the stops that soft, that you don't notice when you are on them?
