    Hey group,

The plastic cover that fits over the front windshield sensor behind the mirror keeps falling off. all the clips and connectors appear fine but it keeps falling off. Curious if anyone else has had this issue?

no, i haven't had that issue but it is a pain in the ass to get it to snap into place correctly. make sure it's properly clipped in on the backside.

Yeah it’s still under warranty, just a minor part that isn’t worth taking in until it’s next service.
Was more curious if this was just an issue with my truck or were others having the issue.

They remove by sliding it down the windshield. Reattach by sliding up along the windshield. I did not know this and broke a clip on mine. Two obvious clips on the top and two not so obvious clips on the bottom of the cover.

I have checked all four clips and non of them are broken or damaged. I can get the cover to slide on and I hear it snap in. It stays on for a day or two then falls off while driving. Now I just leave it off so it doesn't scare the pants off me.

Just to clarify, do you have two orange clips attached to the top of the cover; or are the orange clips attached to the windshield? If they are attached to the cover, I have nothing more to add as that is where they should be when installing.

Orange clips are on the cover. Everything lines up and seems to fit as it should. It "clicks" in indicating that the clips are engaging. Short time later its falling off. I'll just leave it off until I have it in for service. Thanks for input guys!

you might try bending the clips to make them tighter. they have probably loosened up from it falling off/reinstalling. you can probably just get the replacement clips for a few bucks.

Just got a new (to me) Tacoma and have been having the same problem. Bought a bag of new clips even though my clips look fine… any suggestions are appreciated! TIA

I'm having the SAME problem recently with my 2023 Tacoma TRD Pro. I'm about to buy these clips you shared here. I'm guessing that these just replace the existing Orange Clips that are on the cover?? Also.. wanted to just follow up here to see if these still have worked or if anyone else has any other suggestions?

Im having the same issue too, i got it replaced because the bottom clips were damaged it was probably not properly attached before. but the new one still keeps falling off while driving over bumps, did you guys end up solving this?

Same issue on my new to me 2021 sr5

It was somewhat loose, clipped it then rattles or falls off after a day or two.

Or when the passenger door closes.

My clips are not damages everything seems to be in tact.

Did those replacement clips do the trick?

With this taco being certified , will this part be covered under some warranty?

Same problem from when I got the vehicle a few months ago. Turned out one of the bottom clips was broken so got the new part ($124 no less). Still same problem. The issue is not the orange clips, it’s almost as if the headliner pushes the cover down (and off).

I fixed mine... easy and free. I trimmed 1/8 of and inch off the upper ( headliner) side with a red scotchbrite die grinder pad, snapped into place and no more issues.

Small dab of clear silicone caulk on each clip and hold it in place for 2-3 minutes. Cover still comes off easily when needed.
Windshield replacement guys did this once and I now follow this same process.
