Did the code fix or help with the buzzing noise?

Does the type of head unit make a difference....IE the JBL in the Pro's have this issue as well....?

I get the same issue. Although it is not a true fix, I simply turn down the ttransmit volume in settings and the buzz goes down to a minimum. Wife says she can barely hear it. Hope that helps.

WHAT?!! @Jazc Man you get a gold star first post. After all the trouble everyone has gone through you pull out a quick win.

Tried this quick and my wife said wow what did you do? The buzz is gone and I still hear you fine now. Just turned that transmit volume to the lowest setting.

I never found that setting anywhere. It’s only accessible in an active phone call and I never noticed it. I didn’t even see it in Techstream.

I assume Toyota has some bad amplifier feedback on some trucks? Really not sure what that setting does. My wife said she still heard me at the same volume, but the buzz died off each step down in the setting. Fixed it!

Hello Gutentight...where is this setting?? I looked under all the menus while on a phone call and parked (truck running) and couldn't find it. It certainly sounds like the issue. Thank you!

It’s only visible when on a call connected via Bluetooth. I have not yet checked how this behaves once connected through CarPlay after adjusting.

I picked up a new 2023 TRD off-road Tacoma last week & discovered the same mic issues on my drive home from the dealership. I tried making calls while on Apple CarPlay & regular Bluetooth & both produced the same buzz on the other line but CarPlay was the worst. Tried the fix I found on the forum & while it improved things, it wasn’t a true fix. I’m going to take it to the dealership & see what they say. I’ll let you know how that goes.

As mentioned above, adjusting the Transmit Volume gets rid of the buzz on my truck...

I turned that transmit volume all the way down & all the way up just so my wife could tell me if it got better or worse on her end & that was the case so I turned the transmit volume to the lowest setting but it still didn’t eliminate all of the buzz.

UPDATE: So I took the new Taco to the local Toyota dealership & the techs were able to replicate the buzzing noise. They also tested the Bluetooth mic on a brand new TRD Off-Road that just came off the delivery truck. Same buzzing noise. No fix for it yet but at least I documented it so I should be covered if/when a fix happens. If anyone else has that issue with their 22’/23’ tacos take them in & get a paper trail going.

Same issue, same no solution. My husband just took his 2023 Tacoma to the dealership today, they pushed a new firmware upgrade and it made no difference. We will keep waiting for a fix. Very frustrating.

Also to note, his back-up camera is significantly worse quality as compared to my 2015 Highlander.

Same issue here. Family members had told me that they couldn't hear me very well on the phone or that there was an annoying buzz but I just heard it for myself tonight. I guess I need to follow this thread to see if there are any updates over time.

hi Friends, I have a 2022 TRD Sport, which I bought a year ago exactly (absolutely love this machine). I have the same annoying issue, though. I implemented the fix above, which does help, but does not entirely fix the issue, as others have stated, so I'm going to take it into the dealer (will le you know what happens). Question for you all, as I am definitely not a technical person: would replacing the head unit altogether fix this issue? Thank you.

( note: I did a quick scan of this thread, so I may have missed a related post). I had an issue with my 2014 tundra - bad radio reception, quite a bit of interference in my Ham Radio. I even replaced my ham antenna, thinking it was bad, still had the problems. I started going through the truck, turning things on and off, trying to find the source of the interference. While doing this, I accidentally knocked the phone charger out of the lighter socket, and suddenly no more interference. The phone charger was sending noise back through the electrical system that was being picked up by the truck radio and my Ham Radio. So if you have a phone charger plugged in, try removing it to see if the sound clears up. I would recommend staying away from the cheap phone chargers. One of the ways they make them cheap is to not include the components that filter out electrical noise so they don't affect other equipment they are close to.

Also having this issue 2023. Significantly worse when engine is running. Dropped it off today and they said it’s working correctly.. it isn’t. Calling again tomorrow, it’s going back in, unacceptable at 42k

Okay following up is everyone that is having issues, is your SOS button light green? I’m beginning to think it’s interference from that since I noticed it’s not active when car is not running and no buzzing noises occur until it’s started. Just a thought. I haven’t cancelled the service will give it a shot.
