My color is spot on, 4-6 is typical pre-covid. Paint will not be fully cured when you get it. Be sure to get all the options you want when you order. Front gaps should be sealed, and they should pop off your bedside rails to silicone under those. I had mine installed right when the gas lighting of covid began and had to stand outside in the cold and it took nearly 4 hours for install, but they did a fantastic job. I enjoy having a cap, I have a trailer for large items which is much easier to load unload than the bed anyway.

well talking to ARE for the last few days and I basically get that’s just how it is. So I ask about returning it and haven’t heard back. I don’t want an exchange because I want to key fob lock and by their website only the frameless rear glass comes with that option and I think they don’t know how to do frameless.

I will tell everyone I know to avoid ARE, if they mislead customers with pictures showing a great finish and deliver a different product, then I would have to guess they will be the same with their warranty also. Maybe one the other products would be better, but the Revo and Evolve I would stay away from.

You can sell it and then buy a topper from Leer which they have lock option for your FOB. Up to you.

    I've got a V Series.

All Windoors with Aluminum inserts instead of glass though. I'd never own a truck without one. Mine is 6 years old and other than where I have scratched it, it is holding up well.

I am thinking about that, but I have to have $3200 out of it and I don’t think that is possible and that would still cost me an extra $500+ to get a Leer or Snugtop

snugtop also has the key fob lock option

so I have to ask, when someone comes in to order an Evolve topper, do you tell them ahead of time how the rear window will sit?

The key fob lock is pretty easy to add to any topper, you just need an actuator and do some wiring. If you are handy and brave, you could do it. Just mentioning it so it's not a roadblock to getting a cap that you like, even if it doesn't offer it factory.

Returns have to go through the dealer and the regional rep.

All Returns must go through your local A.R.E dealer, they are the ones you purchased through. Their Regional Sales Manager will work with them on refunds/returns.

    Thank You

To follow up on this. The shell came in on Monday, so it was 4.5 weeks from order to delivery. There's a backlog in the dealer's install cue, so it won't be installed until the 27th. That's OK because I need to remove my tonneau cover and clean out the bed at some point between here and there.

That’s not bad at all! Beats the 5 months that I had to wait lol. I hope you enjoy it! The shell is still the best thing I’ve put on the truck, hands down. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

I have a MX. It's been a great cap but after 6 years the side, sliding windows have begun to leak a little. I pulled the cap and installed my OVRLND camper so now the cap is waiting for my brother's new taco to arrive.

I like the texture. Can they do a color match or only in black?

I have a ARE CX. I've had it for several years now. I've been pretty happy with it. Windoors are expensive at $450 per, but I've never regretted buying them. Great for all the travel, hunting, hiking, camping, etc that I do. Will probably not own another truck without a topper..... unless I need a gooseneck or something.20190328_190149.jpg 20201008_141050.jpg 20210408_095830.jpg 20210824_120923.jpg 20220602_103629.jpg

If I need to haul something too big, I just put it on a utility trailer I have for hauling my ATV.

I ordered an ARE CX Classic from my local dealer on 4/21. He quoted 6 weeks delivery time give or take a week. I have a long bed so we'll see what the extra 100 lbs does to the rear (I currently have a BakFlip G2 that weighs 71 lbs). Might get a cap AND a free level :)

I have a LB and started to see the back "settle" a bit with the 200lb topper and a few odds and ends. I installed sumo springs which put me back to level, and later upgraded to a Deaver stage 2 leaf pack when I installed a small lift.

I measured my rake and it's about 1 1/2 inches (21 front, 22.5 rear). With the topper I figure I'll still have about 1/2 inch of rake if I lose an inch. In the threads I've read it seems about an inch loss is average for the LBs from no topper to topper. If I ever start towing on a regular basis I'll consider doing something for the rear but for now with just normal daily driver stuff and the trips to my local Lowes, etc. I think I should be ok as is.
