I bought Techron on Amazon - it arrived with the shipping box soaked - the silver seals on many of the bottles were not sealed - the shipping box did not look like it was tampered with. I read the reviews after the fact and found that many shipments arrived in the same condition - my question is - do you think the liquid in the bottles is real or fake ? If fake how did they switch the liquid with out messing up the shipping box ? A little long winded so appreciate you reading and any reply, information or link.

No real way to tell for sure.
    But I’d assume it’s real.

Those bottle caps aren’t on too tight to begin with. After all they are “supposed” to be sealed.
And those “seals” are glued on.

Who knows the conditions they were stored and transported in?
I’m betting it wasn’t always in cool dry conditions.

We ordered a whole brake kit form Detroit Axle.
The entire bottle of brake fluid had leaked out. The box was saturated.

I stick to buying fluids local.

Im sure they were real just Amazon being amazon and hard on packages. Get on their chat, explain what you see, ill bet they refund the whole purchase and dont want the fluid back.

I think it's hit or miss, mainly depending on the sealing method(s) used by the manufacturers & distributors.

I ordered a case of (4) gallons of Lucas 75W-90 synth. gear oil, it shipped in a Lucas-provided 4-compartment cardboard box. No problem.
Also ordered a gallon of RedLine MT-90 GL4 trans. oil, that arrived in good condition as well.

Yes, if you are a regular Amazon customer in good standing (pay your bills due, don't abuse their return policy, etc.) -- in my experience if you are patient and respecful, Amazon customer service will do right by you.

I’d test it regardless. We have a few tests.

We see how flammable it is, if it acts as a cleaner (typically they have acetone) and last smell.

Unless it’s not flammable it’s probably ok to pour in.

please set it on fire and share results.

I used to buy at Advance when they had a 2 for 1 sale and the price was pretty good then Techron disappeared and you couldn't find it anywhere - when it came back the price was way up and a lot of guys said it wasn't the same anyway because the price went up so much I decided to take a chance on Amazon - maybe I'll go up to local like you suggested. I do read reviews and a lot of Amazon seems to be Fake Fonney Fraud Chinese knock offs.

    I have to admit.
I used to use it as well in my mowers.

Then, as you said, it “disappeared”.
And to be honest, I can’t tell that the mowers run any different?
So I haven’t used anything in them in the last few years.

But I am running 100% gasoline.

    As for my truck?
I can’t say I’ve ever run a cleaner in it?
    Haven’t really had a reason to…….yet.

By no means am I saying “You shouldn’t or don’t need to”.
    I’m just stating, I haven’t had a reason too.
I almost always run 87 E10 in it.
It might not like me “giving it the good stuff”.

Just buy your gas at Chevron, Techron is already added.

I would never use an unsealed bottle. Lucas is also good.

"But I am running 100% gasoline." Does that mean for your lawnmower gas without corn oil ? That's how much per gallon ?

EVERYTHING that isnt daily driven gets a consistent dosage of Startron Enzyme treatment fuel stabilizer cus lovely CA E10... though id still do it in pure gasoline.

The truck gets some Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner maybe once every 20k (usually when I have a longer trip planned with some towing to really burn through the gas). Chevron and the Redline have PEA which is really the only thing that gets rid of fuel deposits within injectors, redline having more of the concentrate than any others.

    About $4 a gallon.

I’ve seen the effects of running E10 in my mowers.
You’ll see it in the carburetors. It took me 2 years to “figure out” the problem.
I didn’t know what was causing the build up. I managed to get the mowers carbs cleaned and rebuilt.
But one of my trimmer, I never did get cleaned out. It wasn’t until my dealer told me what was causing it. The problem occurred during the down time in the slow season. Where the ethanol had time to sit and eat away at the plastics and aluminum.

    Have I run e10 since?
Yeah, but that’s because I had no choice.
But I was sure to either run the machine out of gas, or run a tank 100% through it afterwards.

I’m a bit picky with my small engine stuff.
Like my trimmers, blowers, and saws.
They get 93 octane 100% gas. They get run for long periods, and hard in hot conditions.

Thanks I'll check it out. "About $4 a gallon." That's a pretty good price if I can find it for that - regular gas with corn syrup is about that anyway.

If you have Wawa out there, you can get non-ethanol there.

    It's expensive, but worth it.

    47780109d1396145522-ethanol-free-89-vs-1_81bb7f29f2f1d763b52107c87a452144bb7e473d.jpg

I work on small engines all day.
I actually have a diploma around here, somewhere :)

Oh the beauty of florida right there. 89 pure gas and 92 octane if you need it too.

NJ may as well be California, pure gas is pretty much banned.
