Well, I “did a thing”. Had to drive a bit to get to each one but found a new M/T Pro and an A/T Pro and was able to drive them both. I previously had a 2021 M/T DCSB OR w TRD lift, T4R wheels, Wildpeaks and tons of fun mods but had sold it private sale in November for just a squeak shy of enough to buy a Pro, but was thinking about just driving my older Chev instead. Though I really LIKED the M/T - I didn’t LOVE it and it wasn’t what I wanted for my driving and towing needs. Solar Octane was what got me thinking as I really liked the previous orange, but since I managed a Chev dealership the owner wouldn’t sell me one at his Toyota store at any price. Once I retired we have become a Toyota family.
Was able to purchase this one locally at MSRP no ADM or games, and no funky/cheesy BS forced add ons. Here’s the old and the new: 3CA2596D-B566-4C02-8038-4B2AB504A066.jpg 1D952266-372E-4485-B6E3-C6763D770F2D.jpg It came with a few port adds - tailgate lock, tailgate letters, extra D rings, TRD air filter, splash guards, and I convinced them not to drill the holes for the front license mount (Oregon is a 2 plate state) and will do my own no drill mount. So far added an OEM bed mat, LED Dynamics 6000k’s where they should have been OEM, OEM front rail for my mountain bike mount, Redarc TowPro and OEM sill protectors and I’m close to done. Found some mint Predator steps on CL for $100 so the Mrs will be able to ride along when she wants. So far, only 14 miles on it but I really DO like it, especially the color. I think it’s a good upgrade from the ‘21 :)

I have yet to see Solar Octane in person, but I've put a deposit down for one that's been allocated (i've only been looking in a 500 mile radius since October and at MSRP). Expected delivery end of February to early March.

Patiently waiting for my Solar Octane 6speed-manual ...

I’m in the same boat. Supposed to be here (Newfoundland) mid-late Feb. Called my dealer last week and she now says early March

At the dealership to pick up an air filter and this was parked out front. Couldn’t park next to it to match mine but pretty nice on the Sequoia. IMO looks best on the Tacoma, Sequoia, Tundra, then 4Runner. Will say I wasn’t a fan of the faint “camo” on the fenders and the seats.

I went with 25% on the front and 50% on the rear to make it a 20%. 3M Ceramic.

I’m curious about this as well.
I’m thinking a black cap would be a good way to go.
Mine is also Solar Octane, but there is enough black on the truck, I think it wood complement it.
Having a cap in Solar octane might be too much, but would love to see if someone has done it

Matching the color and texture of the predator steps might be a cheaper way to go if you bought a used top. I'm interested in seeing one with a camper top as well. I'm either getting a tonneau cover or a camper top on mine.

You could get the ARE with the linex portion behind the cab, I think it's the overland model. One of those black aluminum caps might look good, or a solar octane cap with the solid windors and wrap the doors matte black to break up the orange.

I’m really torn on getting a cap. I like having the better vision out the back without a cap, but it also makes it a more practical vehicle.
    My Border Collie agrees

Anybody in the southeast looking for an auto, World Toyota has one. Sent me an OTD for $57,862. That’s Georgia $3580 of that is tax tag and title. I bet $57,000 would buy it.

I gave $56,177 and I thought that was a good deal. Our state tax is high.

That first one would be $54K+ before taxes. That's gotta be an "adjustment" or tons of accessory bloat. To see what's a good deal you have to leave taxes out. They vary by state/county and you have to pay your local, not the taxes of where you purchase.

I guess those prices can be reached if you load up on accessories? :notsure:

If you're happy with your deal, then you got a good deal. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade.

You ain't raining on my parade....Don't worry about that. I'm happy with the deal I got and knew if I waited it out I could probably get a better deal closer to home. I didn't want to wait. MSRP in the SET region on just about any SO Pro is going to be right at $52,350, that's $49,890 plus $425 paint, $699 Toyoguard and $1,335 factor shipping charge. Add the typical dealer processing fees of close $1000 that they all charge down here and you are right at $53,350. The one at World Toyota I posted above did have another grand or so of junk tint and paint protection added. It's a different world in the SET region.

I still smile every time I drive it.

Is Texas part of SET? That is where I went to buy mine. Had a buddy on Tundras.com hook me up with the GM at a dealership, and got mine at MSRP + the accessories I picked. Was 100% worth the 1200 mile drive for the speed and price. I love this truck.

Texas is not part of the SET, it might be in the gulf states region…?

You almost doubled my drive 627 for me.
