If I remember correctly, the backup monitor would've been in the rear view mirror. I had the same situation with my first taco, had a camera but no screen for some reason.

That's what I was hoping. I looked for wiring to the mirror and there was nothing. I'll wire it to my Kenwood. Hope it works!

Thanks to the guys over at Retro Rides, the Tacoma is finally lowered. We went with the DJM 3/4 kit and added FEAL coilovers in the front. I'm running 19" rims with 225/40r19 all season tires that I had sized.
I plan on bringing the front down just a touch to give it the stance I'm looking for but for now, I'm really enjoying it! 20221030_152524.jpg 20221030_152434.jpg 20221030_152453.jpg

A few things left to do....
    •lower the front a little
•install the XAT Racing big brake kit
    •install the painted front bumper
•modify and install the rear swaybar
•interior mods (bucket seats, console, headliner/visor upholstry, amp and subs, etc)

I have to add that after installing the lightened flywheel and clutch kit, along with the header, cat back exhaust and the air intake, this truck is very peppy! It also sounds pretty cool!

There's a think layer of frost on it though. I really need to put on my painted bumper!!!20221108_071049.jpg20221108_071037.jpg 20221108_071022.jpg

Truck looks great. May I ask what is the offset of the rims?
And how does your truck ride on the 40 series tires?

That 35mm offset looks good bro. Did you run the 225 tires due to fitment like rubbing or more of a preference. I have 19x8 38mm offset rims and was thinking of running 235/45/19 front and 245/45/19 rear. Just need to find a tire shop to help me confirm that they wont rub? Thanks for the info.

That looks good! I almost got the same wheels but I really wanted to go a little bigger. I like the how 19's look with 225/40's. It handles like a go kart. I haven't had this much fun in a very long time...

I chose the size based on looking at other trucks that have been lowered and really looking at the fender gap. These fit great, no rubbing at all and I'm going to drop the front around 1/2" to 1". Then I think the fender gap will be great. I may do the same in the rear with shackles but I'm unsure...

Solid build going on here T03. Quick questions if you don't mind entertaining. Which Feal coilover option did you choose? 441+,442,443? and was the install straight forward?

Hey irratato, thanks. I'm having fun!

I just went with the 441 option. They ride pretty firm but I'm ok with it.
Love that silver one. I've thought about doing that body kit. More then likely, I'll bag it and body drop it like the one in post #3.

Even though life has been super busy, I've started to get a few things done on the Tacoma.
I've pulled off the door panels and headliner. Along with the shift boot from the crew cab console, all of those things will be upholstered with a fabric I've been saving for 15yrs. My buddy Eric owns Retro Rides here in Bend. His upholstry guy Max, is handling the work. Pictures to come once they are done.
I'm going to add some sound deadening and upgrade the speakers in the doors as well as a 10" sub behind the pass seat, amp behind the drivers.
I'm hoping to have all the brackets/bolts for the crew cab center console soon and I'll do the bucket seat swap as well.
Retro Rides will also be lowering the front coilovers 1/2"-1" and installing the BIG brake kit later next week or so.
I'm thinking about having the front bumper painted as well and welding in a roll pan...
Contemplating on driving to '23 DOCKWEILER Beach Meet Oct 1st down in Los Angeles, CA. I'd like it to be almost done by then. It'll be a long drive that would be a lot of fun doing in this truck!

There's a lot about to happen soon. I'll post pictures and keep everyone who is interested, updated.
    Stay tuned! VPLESN_1.jpg 20230603_175331.jpg 20230603_175338.jpg Resized_Screenshot_20230603_181718_Samsung_Internet.jpg

Instead of painting the front bumper it'll probably be easier and quicker to order a painted one. I ordered one from www.paintapart.com for $359 shipped to my door. Came out really good. I didn't like the fact that they fold it to fit in a smaller box for shipping but with a little heat it went back into shape easily enough and it did have a slight run on the lower edge that you don't notice. But for $359 I'm not complaining.

Funny you mention that. I actually ordered one of those. I opened the box, and the paint was cracked and peeling off where it was folded. I was going to try and get a refund but seemed like too much hassle. I've got some friends in the world of automotive paint, I'll hit them up.

Yep, mine had the same issue but it's completely hidden once mounted.

Lol, my OCD wouldn't be able to handle it knowing it was there. Even if hidden...
Those are definately a more inexpensive option for sure.

Great list! I have the LCE Performance Street Header and exhaust stud kits on hand to install after this last week of school, and plan to add their cat-back exhaust later.. I think I'm fixing up the SR5 DLT for my kids and grandkids... Just rolled it to school this morning and one of the teachers drove by in her recent Acura MDX as I parked. "Do you want to sell it?" Another friend with a Gen! also gets that same question often.

What bananaman said, "Welcome to TW!" (The only social media I need.)

That is correct. I use it for parking as close to curbs on our narrow downtown streets, and backing into my tight (4-bay) condo garage space. VLED bulbs are great with the camera.
