I want to do 3 different things.

    1. Record old VCR tapes/home movies onto my computer and burn DVD's.

    2. My 2 yr old loves cartoons, I want to record some from my TV and put on a DVD for him. I have Dish Network.

    3. I have a security camera that i would like to hook up eventually. This is very low on the priority list.

    I was thinking Hauppauge.

But will one of these little things work?

"Roxio easy vhs to dvd" is the software you need for the vhs tapes...it will burn them to a dvd then you need to get a software that rips dvds to pc format (avi, mov, wmv, etc) DVDX is a good software but you have to look up some tutorials on the internet....they will walk you through the steps like a good DIY thread would.

for the cartoons to PC look up TV Box...it is a thing that hooks between a cable and your PC. it basically lets your PC act as a DVR... google it and youlll find good info.

    Cant help on security cam...

    hope this helps
