I like their interior. Kind of wish I waited and got a canyon instead

I know a few people whose transmissions were fixed and they are fine now. YMMV.

Everyone I know and most of what I’ve read has said getting the fluid swap fix or whatever it was has resolved the issue.

Toyota has had countless issues with the third gen alone, but folks have brand loyalty and Stockholm syndrome on forums.

You are correct on both fronts. I believe that the new transmission fluid was developed by Mobil 1 specifically for that transmission. In rare cases the torque converter may need replacing, but in an overwhelming majority of cases, the fluid swap is the fox that works. And works quite well.

We have owned darn near all major brands over the years, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, VW, Mazda, Mercedes, John Deere, Caterpillar, Bobcat, Case, Hyster, Kubota, Mack, they all will give ya trouble. Anything that has spinning rotating mass will have failures.

People want perfection in an imperfect world. And they want to pay as little as possible for it too.

The frame rusting should be blamed on Dana who built them, at least Toyota took care of it. The frame on my old F250 rusted in half, Ford never sent me a letter stating they would fix it.

Toyota did, however my 1st Gens never rusted. Of course being an AZ truck helped.
