Does anyone know if exhaust rust is covered under warranty .. I'm surprised at how much there is already. My Corolla was 7 years old and didn't show this much rust ...

Simply having rust on the surface doesn't qualify for replacement. If the parts develop enough rust to cause a leak, then it's covered under the 3-year basic warranty. The exhaust pipes and muffler are stainless steel, but the hardware is not. Usually the nuts and bolts holding the flanges together and holding the heat shields on will rust out first. My friend with a 2016 had a heat shield fall off last year.
