Thanks Harry. I pulled the ignition relay, seemed to me that would be the one based on the symptoms. Connected the battery, and no CEL is coming up like before, and I am not hearing the motor noise or that quiet high pitched electrical sound I was hearing.

Will look to get a new relay and see if that fixes it.

Is there another relay that you can swap the ignition relay with (just as a testing situation)?

It looks like the starter relay and park lp relay are the same- 8864. Will give that a go.

Toyota/Lexus uses a lot of the same relays for different things, makes it easy to swap out a possible bad relay with a known good one.

Unfortunately same behavior using the other relay. Cel with ignition off. And noises came back.

I don't see an "ignition relay" in my wiring diagrams. Is it the EFI relay you're talking about?
I can send you a wiring diagram once I confirm what relay it is.

    @MikefromCT

    Hey Mike, just an observation,

With all that dirt/mud in the fuse box I'm guessing that it was wet a time or two.

Appling my motorcycle trouble shooting skills it might be possible that some corrosion forming/formed on the backside of the fuse panel and is causing some very high resistance and connecting more the one circuit together.

I'm offering a suggestion, Disconnect the battery and then remove each fuse and relay one at a time and check if there is any corrosion dirt, just by removing and cleaning the contacts might clean the contacts enough to make a better connection.

    Works on the Moto Guzzi.

Hope you understand what I'm saying.

I was going to say Fluid Film vs. dirt/mud, but yes - what @TOMB said.

The culprit is mice. That round hole was created by mice and there was a pretty big mess in here at some point, but it was largely cleaned up with some peppermint oil being applied to keep them at bay. No apparent damage to the wires but I will keeping an eye out as I continue to try and figure this out.

It definitely needs some more cleaning up, Ill give your suggestion a try. Thank you sir.

I saw the rough edges of the hole and thought mouse. Plus that fuse block is really dirty (corroded?).
You may have to pull that fuse block apart and do some further inspection/testing.

What year, make and model is this in?

    Good morning CT.
Finished the cable management on my desk. I just need to hide one power cable for the mini PC. I needed bigger wire clips, those clips will be arriving tomorrow.

1st day of Spring: March 20  (time for some serious Spring cleaning this week, so much crap I don't use).

I've got one here. The cordless ones are nice but if you're going to spend a lot of time under a hood at one sitting an old school one is the way to go. I put an LED bulb in mine so no worries about a small impact popping the filament and no getting burned.

That’s what I plan on doing. Going to get some LED’s on lunch. I’ve had no luck with rechargeables.

I got one of the Harbor Freight rechargeable ones (Braun IIRC) and it's very handy. I've had it for maybe 4 years without issue.
