    What is BamBed?
BamBed is a 3 piece, multipurpose platform designed for the Toyota Tacoma (more vehicles coming soon). It sits above the wheel wells on the stock ledge in the bed. Being above the wheel wells enables a wide sleeping area suitable for two adults on a full-size mattress. The multi-segment design allows for quick reconfiguration as needed to transport tall items like coolers or mountain bikes. Unlike permanently fastened drawer or deck systems, this platform can be removed in under a minute with no tools - allowing full use of your truck bed when you need it. It is small enough to store in a closet when not in use.

The tailgate extension option is really handy if you have a 5' short-bed truck and want to sleep in the back. Also available for the 6' Long Bed but is not typically needed.

All products are made from an industrial-grade Baltic Birch or Bamboo structural 3/4" thick panel that has been precisely CNC cut and finished with rounded edges for a smooth ergonomic feel. This isn't the splinter-filled and warped plywood that you'd buy at the local hardware store and it won't take you a whole weekend to design and build!

It can also be converted into a camp couch (outside of the truck) with our rocker legs.

We also make a super simple pull-out slider system which is a space-efficient alternative to drawers that has unbeatable reliability and cargo volume due to no moving parts and no large walls.

    All Products MADE IN USA

    Lifetime Strength Guarantee
Each Board can support well over 500lbs on its own, the entire platform can support well beyond the payload capacity of the Toyota Tacoma. Check out our website to watch me and 3 friends jumping on the platform.
We're so confident in the strength of this material that if a board ever breaks, we'll send you a replacement at no charge.

    Fulfillment and Shipping
We maintain same-day or next-day fulfillment and ship via UPS ground so you'll be able to have your platform in time for upcoming trips. Shipping is Free to the Lower 48.

    No Discounts.

If you don't have or know what aftermarket bed stiffeners are - stop reading here!

If you want bed stiffeners, buy the internal bed stiffeners from 4-wheel parts!
If you already have other external bed stiffeners then you won't be able to use our sliders unless you remove the bed stiffeners but you can buy a bed stiffener-compatible version of BamBed here. It is compatible with most common brands including total chaos and Cali Raised.

Let us know if you have any questions and we'll do our best to respond promptly.

Is it at all possible to order custom boards that have fewer holes? I sleep in my camper shell in the winter and all the holes will allow cold air to have more ways into the bottom of my mattress. I'm thinking of one grab handle instead of six for each board and I'm curious what the purpose is with the corners being routed in so far. Thank you.

Hey, one really good option if you want to cover up the handles is to use these adhesive carpet squares (link below). It'll be a whole lot cheaper than having me do a custom order. Feel free to DM me if you want to discuss this further.

    Best,
    Ben

What's the vertical clearance between the deck and sliders?

The stock BamBed platform gives 9" of vertical clearance underneath or 8.5" with the sliders.
I'm trying to gauge interest in a backward-compatible (works with all existing bambeds) accessory that would raise the platform height to allow for more storage underneath at the cost of reduced headroom.
I personally wouldn't find this necessary but I have had several customers make a lift from 2x4's or something similar so I know that there's some interest.

    Three questions for you:
Would you want more space underneath BamBed at the expense of headroom?
If so, how many inches of vertical clearance would you prefer?
What type of cargo storage would you be using? Bins, boxes, trays. Share a link if you have one!

I'd like to have more storage space underneath, but I have a Leer 180 cap to make up for the reduced headroom. If I had a cab height cap, I probably wouldn't want to sacrifice the headroom, but the having the option to remove them would be nice.

I haven't measured how much more space I would need, but it would be nice to store a duffle bag, maybe a cooler, ski boot bag, etc., underneath the beds.

For those with softopper and this amazing bambeds. How’s the head clearance when sleeping . Since you’re now closer to the ceiling. Is it significantly hotter ? I’m close to getting this but there’s not much topic regarding this . We usually sleep on the bed when camping but having an extra space underneath the bambeds is awesome . Thanks

To anyone with an upcoming trip trying to decide if they'd have their order in time for their trip - These are the estimated UPS transit times from our location in California, keep in mind they are only estimates but I have found this to be pretty dead on in most cases.

We do our best to fulfill orders same day or next day. If you place an order before 7am PST, your order will ship out that same business day.

I am about to purchase the 6ft bambed combined with the Flated topper! I think it's going to do pretty well or much better than a soft topper due to the larger clearance. Going on a road trip from Oregon to So-Cal wild camping end of this month (will provide updates). Later this winter parking lot weekend ski camp outs at our local resort...with a buddy heater of course..

I'll be at Overland Expo PNW July 7-9th!
If you're in the area please stop by Booth G7.

I'll have my Tacoma and 4runner products on display as well as some prototypes in development which could use your input.

Most of all, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you.
Enjoy the holiday and the road trip if you're planning on attending!

    Best,
    Ben

All, very sorry to say that I will not be able to attend overland expo pnw this year. Broke my right hand after going OTB on a rocky mountain bike trail yesterday.
My team will still be fulfilling orders as usual, (orders shipping same or next day) but my email communication will be limited this week.

To anyone attending, hope you have a great time. I'll aim to be there next year!

Thank you for the support, I decided to descope all the booth setup and just drove my truck up to the expo with just a single flag with my logo. Swing on by G7 if you're here! I'll be here till Sunday
