So I've got the TRD intake and noticed last night this part (highlighted by arrow) is broken off

I've tried repairing it with superglue/duct tape but no joy. Welcome to hearing any ideas on repairing it. My next thought was blowtorch, trying to melt it back on there, but probability of me successfully pulling that off w/out ruining the tube is low.

Best attempt at finding the part # I came up with Intake Tube - Toyota (PTR03-35160-AB). Looks like I can get that for around $70 so that's the obvious solution.

Out of curiosity sake, anyone know exactly what that is for? I'm guessing some sort of vacuum or PCV connection. Curious what the ramifications of not repairing it would be.

    None...yet
2 part epoxy, or an oil resistant sealant? Clean the area up real good. The PCV hose dumps oil mist and smoke back into the intake to be burned off for emissions. So if you don't do something with it, it will always be a little bit oily there.

That's where the crankcase ventilation hose connects. Leaving it broken/leaking, is a post-MAF sensor unmetered air leak...eventually you'll get a Check Engine Light with P0171/P0174 because that hose connection is after the MAF sensor in the intake duct. Maybe a P0101 for MAF performance too, because what the PCM is seeing from the MAF won't correlate to what the O2 sensors are reporting and despite its best efforts to compensate, the PCM won't be able to.

Repair the part as suggested already, or buy a new one.

No where else can you get this sort of info this quickly. I stopped by the dealership just to see if by chance they had one in stock. Showed the part in question to three different service advisors, none of which had a clue what that connection was. Granted these aren't techs so I can't hold it against them.

They could order it for $93 and have it in a week. I ended getting the last one at Sparks for $70. I'll plug the holes for now till it gets here. Case closed

okay ill be that guy... remove the part, cut the nipple flush open up the hole a bit, thread in a Barb fitting with some epoxy on the threads never a problem with breaking again?

you might want to poke around in there and see if there is vibration or movement that would cause it to break. is it loose and moves around when driving? something to do until you get the part. LOL

I’m fairly certain the movement and/or vibration was me disassembling it to detail my engine bay once every six months. I just don’t know if it happened the last time when I put everything together and I never noticed it or if it just happened this time but I haven’t gotten any codes in all that time.

I am a former Marine after all and we are known for breaking shit

Clean engine bay makes my soul happy though. Went from this to this in about 45 mins
