I was cleaning the throttle body and when putting things back together I turned it into a 3 day job.
Any ideas on how I can get that bolt out?

Tricky but not terribly. Get a GOOD extractor set with reverse drill bits.

Center punch it, left hand drill bit.

Did you twist it off tightening or while trying to take it out?
If it's not very tight in the hole you could cut a small slot in it with a dremmel and remove it with a small flat screwdriver.

My guess is that an impact driver was involved?

If it broke going in from over tightening and it’s not cross threaded, a center punch and left handed bit should take it out, or an extractor if the bit doesn’t by itself.

I'll bet that was a pressed in stud assembly.

No. It was a ratchet. Didn’t realize how tight I was going.

There is hope then, I'd tap the top of it a bit with a hammer, cut a slot in it, and unscrew it with a flat screwdriver. If that doesn't work your gona have to drill it.

I’ve done that too. It happens to the best of us.
Those bolts are only supposed to be like 70 inch lbs.
    There isn’t much to them.

I was thinking about that. If it was a threaded stud sticking up you put a nut on to tighten down, things are a bit more complicated.

Pretty sure it's one of the bolts that holds the air filter box to the upper intake manifold not a stud.

Not the best advice but if that broken piece is stubborn it's probably not a huge deal to just go without it. As long as the hose clamp at the throttle body is tight and the airbox is more or less secure..

I would start with a left hand drill bit. On the smaller fasteners sometimes the drill bit will grab the bolt/screw and spin it out.

Start with a center punch and then go to a small drill bit. Keep increasing the size of the drill bit until you can hammer an easy out in. Keep squirting it with WD-40 while you are increasing the size of the drill bit.

Wealth of information in this thread for sure. I see a lot of new bolts snapping off and threads stripping out as everything is made cheaper these days.
