I’m looking forward to hearing that comparison as well!
thanks amigo! So this is actually two if I’m not mistaken. One is the BOV built into my BorgWarner EFR, and the other one is the HKS BOV used in the URD SC kit. I think the one you’re hearing predominantly is the BW EFR BOV

Replaced my hardware on my Full Race BOV cover today. For whatever reason, they provided mild steel socket head cap screws to go with their nice billet BOV cover. Well due to the heat, they had already started rusting. These are M6x1.0x12mm. Stainless fasteners is this flavor were very difficult to find in my area so I ordered a pack off of Grainger. Added a dab of anti seize to be safe. If anyone needs a few shoot me a PM and I can drop them in the mail for you. Cough cough @Torspd

Lol. I know I know. Ace Hardware right near my house has them in 316 stainless. Extra corrosion resistant. :D

Doh! Found this vacuum leak at 545 this morning. BOV sounded super weird instead of one pshhh it was more like psh psh psh psh when i would go to shift. Well i broke the line yesterday while swapping bolts for the cover lol. Fixed that baby in the dark and drove it to work today. I love it when there is a simple fix. And as usual, it looks like this was another self inflicted issue. I did manage to put the nut for the clamp back on, i just took this pic before doing so yesterday :D

Good catch, I had this happen on my car, virtually exactly the same thing; cracked vacuum line from one of the recirc valves. Sounded exactly how you described too.

Yeah, I saw that myself yesterday and thought to ask if you had a vacuum leak but I said to myself no he knows better.
Oh, I love it when sellers advise V-band clamps for exhaust systems then they supply nylon lock nuts!

Lol yeah next time dont hesistate to throw it out there, I am happy to have other's constructive criticism.

On v-bands i use the nut they send for mockup as the main one and then i put the metal locking on as well. The double-nut method has served me well in the past.

Turbo is definitely the way. If I could do it over again, I’d skip the magnuson on my v6 and go turbo.

Ha I appreciate the confidence but I'd have to outsource the welding. My friend Ben who did the aluminum washer tank and meth tank would do it for a great price. Unless you want me to totally fake it with my Flux core lol

But I'd totally help you install everything else.

Been working on a few projects lately now that I have a little more time on my hands. I have had a set of VoltPhreaks terminal adapters laying around for a few months and I have been thinking about a lighter battery for a while as well. I went with a Mega Crank MTX-30L after the recommendation from Lucario Runner. So far it has been great and cranks the truck right up. This was almost 22lbs lighter than the 24F that came out as well.
    0C17DA1C-DDEC-413C-A2EA-A2F632FD5E17.jpg
I did have an issue with my 6 year old solar charge controller where it was overcharging the battery when it would get really sunny. The issue was that it wasn’t going into float mode and only staying in bulk/absorption causing it hit almost 17v, when it should see no more than 15v. So I ended up replacing my charge controller with a Victron SmartSolar 75/15 MPPT with Bluetooth so I can keep a closer eye on things, and have control over more of the settings/max voltage it sees. Here’s a few of the things you can view on the app 637FD8E3-6303-4A96-95A3-84B356B450B7.jpg
    BAD36C2B-1BDA-46D1-8E8D-353C64284DC6.jpg
I also bought a GearAmerica soft shackle to replace my steel one. Very pleased with the quality there. Last but not least, I ordered a 12-15 seibon hood and some OEM 2015 TRD pro headlights for a little facelift for the truck. AWD swap will be starting soon as well, weather permitting. There’s been a chance for hail here lately almost daily so that has been holding that project up unfortunately

What? The tax man not busy during tax season are they?
Also what did that little box of power set you back. I’ve been thinking about one of those expensive little batteries for the LS swap. Just curious if you ever weighed a dress out 2TR? I’m wondering how much weight im going to gain with the aluminum block over the case iron 4 banger.
Also I don’t have the smoked pro lights but I have a set of 15 headlights you’re welcome to have. If there is a body & paint shop around I can prep the lights for a coat of clear paint. Or if you want I can run a piece of fine line and you can have the top of the lights painted body color. I can’t believe all the compliments I get on my headlights being painted kind of funny tell you truth. I also have the center section of a 15 grill you’re welcome to it also and a local guy got the front lower facia part of the bumper here locally for sale. It’s white so you have to have it painted if you’re getting rid of the pre-runner front bumper for the face lift.

Had most things wrapped up for the deadline late last week thank goodness. The battery was about $110 shipped from BatteryMart.com. This one has 420cca

Unfortunately I’ve never weighed a long block 2TR but i bet your aluminum 5.3 is similar or lighter, the 4 cylinder is pretty heavy

I appreciate the offer but I think I’ve got most everything needed for the swap. I have done this once previously so I just need to track down all of my parts.:fistbump:

I've got a few engines kicking around... I'll grab a scale at HF today and find out for science.

Edit: apparently HF no longer Sells a hanging scale. I thought they did. I'll order one online and post results when I get to it
