Just my hood has the clear peeling in spots. If I painted it white, it would never match. Thinking about flat/matte black maybe?

if its just the clear peeling it can be sanded and resprayed with clear only. As long as you dont sand through the paint. Theres gotta be someone in NY that can color match it pretty close.

You think you'll like flat but you'll just look like you bought a junkyard hood

Personally, I'd rather the white be a little off than have a black hood on it...I agree it will just look like you picked up a hood at the yard somewhere or bought an aftermarket unpainted one

You can buy the color matched paint for your version of white. You're right it might look a little off at the right angle/light, but I still think it would be better than black imo

If you're going to go through the trouble to paint it, why don't you get an original color match and clear? I had a pre-Taco SR5 that was doing this and as mentioned, you can prep it and just do clear, but it's likely to still show.
