Seems like there should be an APP to keep track of the info on your phone. Easier to show to the doc in the office that way. I do it for my diabetes.

I'm going to have to read the recent posts here on these, I'm sure there's a wealth of knowledge here.

Reason is my wife (65 y.o.) is going to be scheduled for an at home sleep study, her snoring has become an issue. Our primary physician is perplexed. Mrs. SpruceMica has none of the usual sleep apnea indicators. BP is usually 90/60, 116 lbs, former triathlete, former marathoner. Snores on her back, her side, her stomach. My suspicion is her dentist molded dental night guard is affecting her jaw alignment and thus her airway. Dentist (of 30 yrs) says no...but you're a dentist not an ENT specialist.

Up until last summer I was a runner clocking in anywhere from 150 to 300 miles a month, low heart rate, low breathing rate, low BP, low everything, and yet my airway was being blocked to the tune of every 45 seconds due to an unusually formed soft palate. My apnea got so bad I would struggle so hard to breathe my attempts to inhale would effectively vacuum up the contents of my stomach and pull all of that acid and whatever into my lungs. I'd wake up, realize what had happened, need to inhale even more of that garbage to have enough air to then cough it back up. Long story short, being in shape and having sleep apnea are not mutually exclusive conditions.

Good luck to your wife (my wife and I are also 65 by the way), I can definitively say my CPAP machine saved my life.

 

I just pulled the data from my AirSense 10 C2C for the first time since last summer, the SD Card had a folder containing data for every day since I got the machine. A quick analysis suggests the 4GB SD Card which came with the machine should hold roughly three years of information.

Regarding the data, in its raw form it is unreadable, however, if you go to the following site:

You can download the OSCAR app for your computer and then analyze the data in great detail. The Apnea Board forums ( http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/ ) are also a great source of information.

I read an article from a local news station site today that stated the amount of drugs that the PSP has seized so far this year in just 4 months. All I can say is WOW!!!

I'm going to assume that this does not include any seizures by town, city or sheriff officers.

And Mimi thinks I'm nuts for telling her to lock the doors when I'm not home...'cause you never know.

I don't keep such records; some folks do if for no other reason than their insurance requires proof one is using their CPAP device daily, if they aren't, some insurance companies stop paying for the machine.

Back in 2007 when I got my first CPAP machine I had to upload my nightly data every week to my DME (Durable Medical Equipment) provider who delivered my machine, back then my understanding was the machine was nearly $5,000 and if I didn't deliver the data as proof of use, they wouldn't get paid by our insurance company. About six weeks into it I learned, uhhh, something, I don't remember what, which lead me to understand the data wasn't being used by my DME (a bunch of crooks anyway), so I stopped providing it and never pulled data from that machine again.

This time around was rather different, I am now working with a high deductible health care plan and after a little research, I found out they would only pay about $200 for any new machine even though I'd already met my yearly deductible. To make matters worse, they wouldn't work with an online DME and it was a 6 to 12 month wait for any CPAP machine from my local DMEs. I said screw it and bought my new AirSense 10 C2C from an online DME and paid for it with my HSA. Long story short, I don't need to track my sleep data for insurance, and after over a decade and a half of CPAP use, I don't need data to know if I slept well or not.

 

Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! We got about 1/3" late last night, so I guess I got those barrels back in place just in time! Going to run a new electrical line to the shed, and pot a new pepper. That should do it!

My AirSense uploads it's data to their cloud, then the MyAir app reads it. So, it's always on the phone. The number I check before I go to bed is the leaks, to see if I need to adjust the thing. The number the doc likes to see is the Event history. Doesn't require me to do anything but look at it.

After the CHF, the heart docs wanted me to record weight everyday, and the scale is in the bathroom. I don't do spreadsheets in the bathroom, so I got a little white board. What goes on the board has expanded over time. My fancy watch that counted steps and put in the phone died, and my cheap replacement does not "app" reliably, so I make stick figures. Once every 5 weeks, I take a picture of the board, and print those for the doc.

 

After reading the figures Harry, my brain was thinking...maybe if we loaded all the drug addicts living on the street on busses and shipped them to South of the border the shipping costs for the cartels would be much less and the amount of money each city, state and govt spends on narcan could be used for people that really need it.
Just my opinion

 

And maybe have a couple SEAL teams visit the cartels and point out the errors of their ways, encourage them to change careers and adopt a healthier life style.

 

Just noticed something interesting here on TW. There is a member who joined TW in 9/2017. He (just assuming it’s a he)has never posted a single post but I notice him viewing lots and lots of different treads often, almost daily. He seems to check out the 60+ thread almost daily. I’m not implying that there is anything wrong with this just saying it’s most unusual. My assumption is that he is probably collecting data of some kind for some reason. The member name is njesq. I just find it odd. Maybe someone here knows what’s up with this.

Maybe a spy looking to leak information about old people over 60. He’s looking for new denture, CPAP, and adult diaper technology to leak (pun intended). He’s probably in the national guard and is really only 21 years old.

Maybe someone who just enjoys reading the posts and not chatty enough to chime in.

It's staggering the amount of street drugs that are out there Harry, 70-100,000 deaths a year from fentanyl alone and it seems like there is minimal outrage.

"SOMEONE" has already mentioned that!

 

Just returned from Natural Bridges National Park, Chaco Canyon, Four Corners, The Kanab area and Pink Coral Sand Dunes State Park. The van's maiden voyage and everything worked. I was especially happy with the fridge. It was way cheaper than many on Ammy, I think due to being brand new and wanting a quick start in sales, and after leaving a positive review the price is $80 more. I wasn't expecting it to function all night without draining the battery, but it did fine. The real queen size mattress makes all the difference in the world, too.

The only downside is the low roof, but then the better milage makes it a small inconvenience. In a one ton Chevy van with a 6.0 we averaged between 17 and 19 every time we filled up.

@roundrocktom sorry your wife is going through the bad stuff. Take care...

 

Sue, the chip manufacturer, couldn't supply enough WIFI Chips. Resmed hadn't booked their orders but relied on warehouse inventory. Covid hit, demand went through the roof, and supply time was 18 months! So they opted to ship machines without WIFI as we need our CPAP.

For years I used Sleepyhead to analyze data. Pop out the SD, save the data, then I could look at Sleepyhead.

It shut down a few years back, and OSCAR appeared.

Few of my more interesting nights:

On typical nights I only slept for five hours, waking up gagging and having a headache. Hmm.





CA (central apnea) - air way clear, brain not telling my body "breathe."




This was a few months after my Deep Brain Stimulator was installed:

Tidal Volume (Flow Rate) is your body regulating CO2 buildup—deeper breath to clear, shorter when fine. Ya, the tidal volume shouldn't look like that.



My Pulse Oximeter recorded I was about 80% SatO2, brain damage, and close to death. Typically only slept about three hours a night, but I would cat nap the moment I sat down for about 10 minutes. For CPAP compliance (insurance paid for it, I had to have five hours a night; I used to dream up ways to put a CPAP on my Golden Retriever to ensure I had five hours recorded.
