I found time today to install my manifold spacer on my '21 TRD Sport. It was very easy except for having to fight with that wire harness at the rear of the engine.
But even with that and stopping to take pictures, I still got it done in less than an hour.
Here's the engine getting prepped for manifold removal. I unclipped everything in this picture. 1- Spacer install prep.jpg

Next I laid out the manifold spacer and all the parts that were included with it.
I then put the gasket on the spacer.2- Manifold Spacer prep (1).jpg 2- Manifold Spacer prep (2).jpg

Next I removed the manifold bolts and separated the braces from the manifold by removing those bolts. 4- Manifold braces separated from Manifold (1).jpg 4- Manifold braces separated from Manifold (2).jpg 4- Manifold braces separated from Manifold (3).jpg

Time to remove the studs. I did this before I removed the manifold. I didn't use the 2 nut trick, because I had an E8 socket that I used to remove them. So......no having to remove the manifold and stuffing rags in the intake runners. 5-Manifold Stud removal with E8 socket (1).jpg 5-Manifold Stud removal with E8 socket (2).jpg 5-Manifold Stud removal with E8 socket (3).jpg

Next I put the washers on the bolts and put the manifold spacer on the truck. Everything went pretty smooth until now, and it still wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. That wire harness was a bitch to deal with, but I moved it. Then I lined up the manifold and the spacer and put the bolts in. This was SOOO much fun!!
6- Bolt prep.jpg 7- Manifold Spacer installed (1).jpg 7- Manifold Spacer installed (2).jpg Now mind you, I did all of this with no help, so it can be done with one person.

Then I put the brace spacers on and tightened them up.
Started the truck to check for leaks, and called it a day. I haven't driven it yet, so I can't tell you if it made an improvement right now.
But stay tuned, because I'll give a report back on this thread when I do drive it. 8- Manifold brace spacers installed (1).jpg 8- Manifold brace spacers installed (2).jpg 8- Manifold brace spacers installed (3).jpg

Because the torque curves starts 1000 rpm sooner, which means that it'll feel more like a truck. That's why.

In other words, you're saying this spacer is a cheap alternative to what would be a custom intake manifold. Long runner intake manifolds are a thing of the 80's (on stock vehicles) and go back even further to 60's and 70's drag cars. Gain a little early torque only to trade off some top end.

In an application like this, with a minivan engine and electronically controlled throttle, you stand to gain more from a tune (both to your PCM as well as your transmission) than a spacer like this.

The spacer would totally be a cool idea if it implemented a means of adding auxiliary fuel and/or methanol injection (I ran meth injection on a manifold spacer as I'm describing) which was as close to the combustion chamber as possible. This is of course if you were running a snail to begin with.

If you're happy with it, cool! Just thought I'd talk a little science from one gearhead to another.

Technically torque, and not more but only sooner due to the increased build up of air before it enters the combustion chamber.

I'm sure harmonics would play a role in the stock setup but unsure how it'll affect (positively or negatively) having added the spacer.

Glad you came to the other side . Yeah super pleased with the outcome of the added spacer

    Yeah, pretty much.

Within the next couple of days. I have to pick up a couch. I'm driving one of my other cars right now since the weather here has broke enough for me to bring it out.

im not a torq spec guy normally but i have to ask considering you are bolting into aluminum vs dealing with studs. What torque specs and assuming you sequence middle and spiral outward? Could you update the original post with that information
