ETA: This did not pan out as hoped so it’s a no go.

Coming soon, depending on alpha testing results, a conversion harness for SR and SR5 (including Trail Edition) 3rd gen Tacoma to TRD DRL and Turn connectors.

This harness is born out of my personal frustration with the complexity, cost, and overall headache with the v2 SR OEM LED conversion harness. I want something that doesn't take so long to build and test, which doesn't rely on programming and a bunch of crimps, and which doesn't cost so much that people feel compelled to return it if they decide $1500 lights aren't all that great.

The price point will be $100 but to get to OEM LED you'll also need some form of TRD OEM LED conversion harness (mine or any of the other options should all work just fine).

The kinks left to work out are the neverending misery with turn signal resistance and the ever so finicky SR ECU's.

This harness will include a portion which stretches across the grille which contains 3 wires. It will be fully plug and play and will not require any external power or ground connections.

    More details once available.

4/13 Update: Testing isn’t looking good unfortunately. Phase problems when DRL is on.

So if I understand correctly..you are making a harness to run factory trd sport lights in an sr5.

The only difference being the drl. Isnt the signal light three wires in the SR5? I.e. Ground, signal and DRL. Connect ground and signal to a new 2pin signal socket from the trd. Then connect ground, drl, and a headlight signal to the drl harness on trd light. That doesn't work?

There is no simple solution. I continue to ponder the options but so far most options are no better than before. And the v2 harness suffers from excessive complexity, cost and scarcity / scalability.

So far this effort has been quite the bear.

The 3 pin is parking light, ground and combined DRL + Turn. That last one is the PIA bit.
