My seldom driven 03 base Tacoma with the small 4 cylinder threw a PO135 code. O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1). I’m assuming this is the sensor that is on the exhaust manifold at the engine, accessed from beneath. Correct? Anyone know the Denso part number. Thanks

Thanks Sicyota04. Looks like I need a Denso 234-9001. Expensive. Amazon seems to have the best price. I wanted to measure the resistance of the sensor to confirm it was bad before ordering but I just spent the last hour trying to get the connector apart and finally quit in frustration. I did get it removed from the metal bracket it attaches to but can’t get the two parts separated. Help!

While separating the plug/connector. You kind of have to push in, down and pull. There’s a little tab to press down on. It took me a few tries also. Here’s my sensor that I used. Maybe you can see the connector better in this pic. That little nub there

I'm seeing that part on Amazon for $150 and $124 on Rockauto. There's also usually a 5% discount for Rockauto on the site here in the vendor section.

Not sure what price you were seeing on Amazon, but I'd recommend against buying things like spark plugs and sensors on Amazon. From what I've read Amazon's method of "binning" the products from multiple sellers can introduce some counterfeit products into the mix. Not sure if that would be the case here, but I feel like Rockauto's method of sourcing is less likely to have counterfeits introduced.

Your pictures helped, thanks. Got it off. Used channel locks while pressing like heck on that tab with a screw driver bracing the connector against the transmission. Appears the heater is open. Part ordered.

Mine stopped working a little over a year ago, and after seeing that price I figured I'd take a peek at the local Pick-n-Pull just in case. Taco's are rare and nearly always totalled, but I've scored a few random things such as this. Not sure how much longer it'll last since it's just as old, but so far so good & definitely worth it at about $124 less ;)
