Back story, I replaced the idler/tensioner/water pump and belt on the wife’s 4runner with all Toyota parts. Couple thousand miles later it started knocking. I pulled the belt and ran it. No knock. The bearings had a lot of play. I replaced all 3 idler bearings again this time with just some off Amazon. First time I didn’t torque them this time I did. Fired it up no knock. Perfect problem solved so I thought, 300 miles later it returned. I tried to listen with a hose and can’t pin point it. Doesn’t change with the ac on or off. Kinda at a loss, possibly a bad cheap bearing? I saved the Toyota idlers maybe someone has some inside info on just a bearing I can press in?
